for the record I think there’s nothing wrong with KOF XII’s zooming method and think that the sprites are very beautiful even when zoom in.
Edit: Yes SF4 would have look better if it was 2D , 2D just fits the style better.

The epitome of KoF and SNK games, that would be KoF 98/UM and to some KoF2000/UM. KoF MI we already have and it is beautiful, albeit broken in the combo department.
How would doing that make more people happy? they rebuilt the game and systems from the ground up. A larger roster. KoF is four characters short from the SF4 roster. How many people in tournies use any but a select few characters in SF4. Not many. Why? Character imbalance issues, which cannot be denied. Deeper gameplay? How is the gameplay any deeper than KoF? The gameplay breaks down to a wait and see of who can land the first Ultra with top tier characters. Your rebuttal will be along the lines of the Critical Counter does the same thing. If you have not noticed this game is about countering your opponent and their attacks. The CCs should not be the thing that is look upon as being game breaking but the Sousai/Deadlocks. With the deadlocks, once one is made you have the options of retreating or advancing. I believe once this mastered in combonation with the CC will see some truly amazing matches.
Just wanna chime in to put in good word for KOF XI (thats KOF 11) and KOF 98 UM, that these two are the best games SNKP ever did and 2 of the best if not the top two 2D fighters I have ever played rating by gameplay depth, balance, smoothness, superior input control, and VS. fun factor.
Anyway keep KOF 2D please. But I don’t mind a 2.5 alternate series like KOF MI also.

Before this thread is locked, basically, you guys all think TvC isn’t a good aesthetic because of its three dimensions. Despite it not just using 3d as a vehicle, but actually doing things with it you can’t do with 2d, without betraying a 2d aesthetic (and playstyle).
Just trying to confirm this, because I tried to offer a counter point and all I could get is people spitting at SF4 and someone saying we only like American things despite SF4 being a Japanese product.
I want to make sure that’s what you guys want to end your debate with on its high note, because it’s pretty damn confusing.
What did it Tatsu do that only 3d can do other than giving cinematic angles for their supers (and BB proved you can accomplish that in a creative sense with astral finishes like Bang and Litchi’s). I played tatsu and it played like a slower vs. game. Just not a fan of its animation in general (not surprised cause this was made by eighting, which made the Naruto Gamecube/Wii games that I’m not a big fan of)

SF4 was made in Japan, but its pretty clear that aesthetically from the HUDs/interface to the character models, that the majority of the game itself was catered to get Americans into the game more. Ikeno did Character Art for the game and then it was not allowed to pass so he re-did them and they were not as good as the previous drawings but they matched more to the 3-D models in-game.
The animated openings/endings were done in an anime style but the bulk of the game didn’t really hold to that very much.
Regardless of whatever I say, people are going to say I’m douche because I held to my opinions and didn’t bow down to whatever everyone else decided to agree on.

the only good thing about TvC is Karas and its animations, the rest of the game is unnispired, and not a good product in general, TvC was the only reason of i got a Wii, after a week i sold it
