Worth getting a dreamcast?!

dc is one of the best for shmups

in fact, they were still being produced long after the dc died

2001 - zero gunner 2
2002 - ikaruga
2003 - border down
2004 - chaos field
2004 - psyvarier 2
2004 - shikigama no shiro 2
2005 - trizeal
2006 - radirgy
2006 - under defeat
2007 - triggerheart exelica

The DC plays backup games by default? it doesn’t need a chip, mod or anything like that?

no chip required

older releases of games u dl required a boot-disk (easily obtained)

but many recent releasers have now made them self-bootable (and by recent, i mean within like the last 6-7 years lol)
and if u download a release that isnt self-bootable, its not that hard to learn how to turn it into one

It would be worth it to get one for what ever you missed out on, but games have evolved and some will be buried.

Jet Grind Radio

thanks, i didn’t know!

Dc is probably one of the best console’s I own. I still argue with people about certain fighting games being ported better on the dc then the ps2. I’ll take Mvc2 on the dc over ps2 any day.

I just burned Ikaruga tonight and played it a bit.

SO GOOD.

i totally forgot about that one! Ahhhh i miss my dreamcast :frowning: I shoulda brought it with me when i moved.

Other awesome DC games. Chuchu Rocket, and Ikaruga (the hardest shooter i have ever played).

im holding my PS2 MvC2. I got it for free and can probably sell it for $250+. Does the DC internet still work to download saves? And I thought CvS2 and 3s on PS2 were arcade perfect. Am I wrong

No, the Sega Net was closed down by Sega. If it were still up, I’d be playing PSO on it. (Although some people have set up personal servers for that). PS2 CvS2 is not arcade perfect; the DC trumps it. PS2 Third Strike is closer to the arcade version of Third Strike, which is considered version A, while DC changes a few things and some call it Version B. In any case, neither of them are arcade perfect gameplay wise, although the PS2 version is what’s used for tourneys.

$250? :looney:

Good luck with that.

Even if it was sealed…

^thats one of the highest ive seen for it max was $300

Why would anyone spend that much when it would be cheaper to buy a DC, a converter or even a AGETEC STICK, and just burn MVC2?

doesnt matter to them its a rare discontinued game (one of the most expensive) For some reason DC ver is $90, and PS2 is $300

Get a Dreamcast.

And quit shopping at E-Bay.

Just because someone asks $300 for it doesn’t mean they’re going to get it. You can search any rare games on Ebay (Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 7, etc.) and find someone selling a factory sealed version for some outrageous price.

I got 100$ for my xbox one. lol

Gamestop usually sells copies of MvC2 without case or manual for around $80.

I sold a sealed copy of the PS2 version with a memory card save for like $250 last year on eBay.

qft!
