unlimited saga and beyond the beyond worst rpgs ever
Worst game I played this gen is WET. Horrible. Doing slow mo made the game even worse. Nothing about it is fun at all. It’s dull and repetitive. On paper it can sound good but just play that trash…
There are games that are broken and that are hard to enjoy even the slightest due to the fact that they are just constructed poorly.
Dark Souls, however, is not one of these games. Regardless of whether or not you like it, you cannot deny the fact that it was a very well constructed game. It just wasn’t right for YOU, apparently.
The graphics are gorgeous, the enemies are diverse and tough, and the bosses are fucking epic. It’s also probably the best open world environment I have ever seen in a video game. It’s realistically paced, and even as big as the game is, there are zero loading times. Also, it knows how to make the game incredibly hard, while still making it fun and addictive. When you overcome a tough obstacle, it actually feels like YOU accomplished something and it’s a feeling that a lot of games just fail to put into the player nowadays.
You posted an “opinion” piece based on somehow who clearly doesn’t have any understanding of what is going on in the game and you call me a retard? The whole article is full of things that are just flat out wrong too (as in facts, not opinions). You don’t seriously expect anyone to take that shit seriously, right?
You aren’t doing yourself any favors here.
Also lol @ you thinking I’m butthurt or upset. Very cute . Please try harder.
Word, Its pretty silly that if you say you dont like Demon’s/Dark Souls fans of the game automatically assume that its just too hard for you. Its really not that hard. Its more of a test of endurance. Shit it took me a couple years to finally get into Demon’s Souls and Im still not sure if I like it. For the most part its just a boring grind fest. But worst game Ive ever played? Fuck no! I doubt its even close to the worst game you ever play.
p.s. I think you’re just saying it is to get the kind of reaction that is typical.

One of those Christmas gift’s from grandma, who knew nothing about games. Amagon is damn near unplayable unless you know how to milk 1 ups at the beginning of the game. Basically my strategy to beat this game was to nearly get to the end of stage one, kill enemies, then walk back. The enemies would respawn, then kill some more of them. Eventually some of the enemies would drop 1-ups. Pretty much do this ad naseum about 70 more times and you have a chance of beating the game. Otherwise you probably won’t make it to stage 3 without dying a tons of cheap deaths. When you’re untransformed, you’re a sitting suck, and your “Amagon” mode only last a few seconds. Doesn’t matter because when you’re “Amagon” you’ll still fall into bottomless pits due to the fact you jump to fucking far. As normal gun totting puny man, you jump too short. Great balance.
That is making up about 40% of the replies here. Another 40% seem to be replying to a thread about disliking games the vast majority of people seem to love.
I think GTAIV and the GT series are overrated. Zelda: OoT, also. I disliked these games. That doesn’t make them among the worst I have played. Neither does everyone else’s love for them.
You…Have it? :shake: But, that game…it must be pure evil!!! How can you survive it being there? You know your house is possessed now, right?
I feel your pain. I played Chakan: the forever man back in the Genesis days. The final boss is horrible. I had to look it up to see if there really IS a way to beat him. Good news: He can be beaten. Bad news: even if you manage to do it…
Spoiler
The game’s ending says, “This is NOT the end.”
Chakan: The forever OWNED!!!

Yeah, I’m sure there are worse games than Dark Souls, I haven’t played them though. The only games I really hated that I put time into or money was DBZ Super Legendary Warriors and Darks Souls, so I consider those 2 as a tie. I played a bunch of better open world games, you can’t even call Dark Souls an open world when you are limited to taking a linear path. The graphics are okay. There were severe load times on my xbox 360. It would be load times of 20-30 seconds after a death. I didn’t save the game to the hard drive space though. The game isn’t fast paced enough for my liking and it was a huge disapointment at the end of the game, there was no big accomplishment feeling outweighing every other game ever played since the ending of Dark Souls is patheticly lacking. It’s not fun and addicting to me because it’s too repetitive and grinding and farming is a pain in the ass which I consider not to be fun.
jinsaotomex3: Did you know that developer From Soft (makers of Dark Souls and Demon Souls) wouldn’t give this guy a copy even though he works at a legit reviewer website, 1up. Why? Because he gave Demon Souls a bad review score. Sounds shady as hell to me why these other gaming websites gave both games a good review score. Despite being a cliche game. They must of obviously paid these developers to give there games a good review score or prevent them from sending a copy to review. And I happen to agree with a few of his points as do many others.
Congratulations, welcome to the video game industry. Most publishers already do this and have been doing this for a very long time now. EA is notorious for this. Give any of their games less than an 8 and you won’t receive an early copy of the next big AAA game they release. Big whoop.
If DS wasn’t “fast paced” enough for you, then you’re not gonna like any RPGs that come out unless they make a COD RPG. Lol, take a look at the other RPGs we got around. Save the FF series, ALL of these games probably get 10 of their 40 hour stories from just walking the fuck around, which isn’t how it is in Dark Souls, where most of the game you’re actually playing and killing shit. And don’t get me wrong, Fallout, Skyrim, Kingdoms of Amular, Fable, are all GREAT rpgs, but they aren’t as fast paced as Dark Souls is.
I understand that you simply didn’t like the game. I get that. It’s YOUR opinion, after all. But don’t go as far as calling the game things that it simply isn’t. (Like slow, or bad in general.)
I guess Dark Souls could be called “slow” when you’re slowly inching ahead, out of Estus Flasks and afraid of death and losing your progress between bonfires.
Then again, that’s what makes the game good.
Alone in the Dark for 360/PS3. I have never had such rage for a game as this, and I never really get mad at games. I broke the disc less that evil could get to someone else.
Vampire Rain for 360/PS3. Oh this game made me lol at my friend even daring to pay money for it.
Jericho for 360/PS3. I was all fine with this title until the whole ghost shit came in, then it really dropped and became rather derpy.
Yeah, I know. That’s also what angers me about From Software and other developers that do the same thing. If you do some research you’ll find out about some things that are shady like that. “Give us a good review score and we will send you a free copy of the game, or give us a good review score and we’ll pay you money.” As a result, I end up getting Dark Souls, playing it. Question myself why I’m playing this game and why it got good reviews. I try to trick myself into liking it, that doesn’t work, I look at Let’s Play of the game to see if I’m playing this game wrong. Nope it’s still boring. I hate the reviewers that gave this game a good score, I feel cheated out more so than any other game. At least I knew DBZ super legendary warriors wasn’t going to be that good, but I at least wanted one DBZ game on my gameboy color. Dark Souls disapointed me because I thought it was going to be really good. After doing research about the game, I even hated it more.
Ohhhh yeah… I haven’t played Vampire Rain, but I was watching a video of it online recently. There is NOTHING about that game that looks enjoyable. Haha, check this shit out:
How can Caliber Champ call Dark Souls linear when there’s multiple paths to reach the same goal, you can tackle areas as you see fit(as long as you’re prepared), and you create your character how you want, fight how you want, kill bosses how you want, there’s reason to explore, and when you travel around you find shortcuts that lead to other places since pretty much everything is connected. FFXIII is linear. Dark Souls is not.
At least it took care of the annoying ass enemies with huge lifebars.
Heroes did have the power characters, but the controls on them made taking down every huge guy more of a struggle than it needed to be.
so it’s actually the only good thing the game ever did
besides rounding off Shadow’s character arc by the end
(which does not make up for the crapfest that is the rest of the story)
in my opinion.
You know, another thing I was thinking about is the fact that the internet helps people not buy bad games. When I was a kid most of the time I would buy a game based on a friends opinion or the box art/pictures on the back. I really had no way of knowing what games were gonna be good or bad. Later on magazines helped with my purchases but they didnt cover every game. A lot of games I would just take a chance. Now you can just go to youtube and watch a video of any game you want to see if its going to be something you might like. People that started gaming in the late 90’s have had it pretty easy deciding what games to buy.
I agree. The only thing that kind of sucks is when you want to preorder for bonuses, and game companies enforce a review embargo, so you can’t even see how the game turned out until a couple of days after release.
That said, this is a lot better than the pre-internet days, where we had to wait a month for reviews to come trickling down.
