I’ll keep my curiosity in check then.
As for the topic…
I go to Smogon regularly, and I can honestly say it used to be a better place. It still has it’s funny moments (such as going through trou-de-coul and Greatest Hits and finding a quality thread) but nowadays you just have too much circle-jerking and weather worshipping going on.

The dead end worst forum I’ve ever visited that didn’t have anything to do with anything sexual, gory, or political (and also 4-chan) was a forum of close-minded people who hate online scantraslators and blamed all the problems that plague the book industry on pirates and people who read online scans. One of the few times I got angry at the Internet.

So on the flipside, can anyone post a list of the BEST message boards to visit on the net? Whether it’s forums dedicated to specific interests (cars, electronics, music, etc) or intelligent discussion of general topics and fields of study.

I have a few sites in mind and which I visit but would like to see a more comprehensive list.

Edit: Still, SRK is honestly above average. It’s actually pretty welcoming to folks and has only been getting better over the last 4+ years.

Just put an edit in on that, but FGD is honestly fun too when things don’t get too out of hand, its the only forum I can think of where the range of opinions is growing instead of shrinking. Usually forums get more stratified and closed off as they age.
