I’ve browsed Smogon on and off since about 2005, and I never really thought of it like that. Although, the only section I really visited was the RBY strategy section, since I never got into the later Pokemon versions.
I went to GameFAQs’ forum once. I wouldn’t recommend it.
I’ll also second Something Awful. Lives up to it’s name. Capcom Unity is up there as well.
If you really want to get bad, almost any wrestling forum or any shonen manga forum is going to lower your IQ just by being there for about 15 minutes. At least, I assume it’s still that way, I haven’t been to either in about a decade.

FCP used to be an awesome forum. I had so many piss-your-pants moments from that site.
Then they compartmentalized themselves into so many cliques it wasn’t even funny.
There were four (yes, four) superthreads in GD. There was one in the General Poker forum, one in almost every strategy forum, one for EVERY professional sports team, one for a keeper fantasy hockey league. Then a couple cliques moved off to their own forums. And pretty much, they cliqued themselves to death.
Now it’s a wasteland.
Cactus thought of Stormfront first, but yeah, that’s about the limit. They’re the paragons of 2 totally different kinds of douchiness that the internet accentuates.

Yeah, Smogon is fucking disgusting. They’ll infract for anything over there, and they’re so defensive of their precious meta and stuck in the one mindset echoing each others statements that they’ll hammer anything even slightly outside the box. Like, I’m not talking pull it apart, I’m talking straight up troll it. It’s like someone took all of the elitist dickheads out of the HoN community and gave them the mentality of the bottom of the barrel from the WoW forums + 4chan merged. It makes old Dustloop look like the most accessible place online.
The worst forum on the internet, by far, is Documenting Reality. I am quite serious when I say this, DO NOT go there. That place is full of the scum of humanity, the kind of people that rape your children and sell drugs in your schools. Do not go there, I’m not exaggerating or making light of it, I’m being completely serious when I say that.
But now I want to go there.

You will regret it, I’m being quite serious, there are things that float through that site that will get the FBI knocking on your door.
I think I accidentally ended up there once thanks to some knowyourmeme.com links.

BTW Rotten.com was the first shock site I ever saw, seems pretty similar to that DReality site.

Most of the people on Rotten are just rednecks/trailer trash that get a kick out of looking at disgusting crap, you don’t speak with the sort of people that would commit murder on there, just perverts that enjoy freaking out people they work with at their dead end job using gross pictures on their phone.
