ok guys i need some help here. I got all that is required to play WHP online but MAME plus plus is running slow as hell on my laptop and thats all i got at the moment. If some one could help me out with fixing it or getting something else to run it that would be awsome cause I really want to play this game. Im looking at the dictator looking guy to learn cause he looks like fun to play. Any help would be great. Ill be on AIM till about 4 A.M if you can help me. my AIM is ZIMinaglasshouse. Thx.

Try Kawaks 1.59 using the latest P2P kailleraclient.dll
Ive been using it and it works great, so i might have everyone switch over.
The version we SHOULD be using is MAME32k 0.64, as that has less input delay than the alternatives. However, Kawaks is the best option for slower computers.
So I just started fooling around with this cause of this thread. Quick question, but do you all play with the 4 button set up? I have hp and hk set to their own buttons, like a capcom fighter. I used the 4 button set up for awhile but on keyboard, pressing 3 buttons for some moves was getting too annoying. My fav character so far is Janne, but she seems pretty craptacular.
I personally play 4 button setup. Im keeping it real. However, and especially if you are a keyboard warrior, I dont mind people throwing HP and HK on their own buttons, SF style. Glad to see another head jumping in. Interested in joining the online play scene?
I would, except my computer is currently busted, and I’m using my sister’s laptop. I don’t think she’d take to kindly to me playing MAME on it. But this gives me more time to practice up anyways, so it’s all good.

i’ve got some info for fei lon… i mean dragon since i didn’t see him in the links in the first post if anyone’s interested. if anyone here is good with dragon, please correct my mistakes if there are any, i just started playing the guy.

turns into a flame and hurls through the air (powered up in hero mode). this move is a good anti-air, but if the opponent is not in the air it won’t hit anything. the damage for hero mode is pathedic.

jumps on back and kicks upwards. only useful when you’re really, really up close and really, really lucky. the second kick can hit an opponent in the air or one several steps away from you, but it’s not something to count on.

running double kick forward. a great move. i haven’t quite figured out how yet, but if you press some combination of f + LK HK repeatedly after this move hits, he does multiple kicks.

This move does not require a charge. A simple down up motion with kick will do the trick. You CAN hit people on the ground with this, especially medium to tall characters. You just need to use the weaker versions (which have a lower arc). Combo’ing into this is really no problem at all. It makes okay air-to-air, but weak as a reversal. It can be air guarded. One of the biggest things you missed here is that after a dragon kick, you can perform a wall jump. This makes dragon corner game very scary, because he can casually toss those out and nearly always land safely with you still stuck in the corner.
I believe the motion is actually hcb,ub+k. This move breaks projectiles, and you can attack on the way down from it. Its not totally useless, and ive used it as a part of my corner game with dragon many times.
We call this his step kick. LK version kicks once and is totally safe (great in combos and as a poke on its own). MK version kicks twice and is often safe. HK version deals great damage (5 kicks) and can be combo’ed off close or dashing HP.
You need to remember that the four buttons you have in front of you are LP, MP, LK, and MK. Pressing LP and MP together gets you HP. So, f+hp is the backfist you are talking about.

Try this. J.hk, dash HP, hundred fists. TONS of chip. GREAT way to end a round. Just be cafeful, because while most characters can punish, some can REALLY hurt you, while others this is safer to try on.

You also forgot:
ABC (lp + mp + lk) = Counter. If an attack hits dragon’s fist, he will counter with a VERY powerful kick automatically.
d+ABC = Low Counter. Same as above, but for low attacks.
and f,b,f+mp+mk = Rush Super. This move sucks SO bad. Long startup, no way to combo into it, amazingly terrible recovery, and if opponent is doing practically anything when it hits, the autocombo will not trigger. Use this ONLY if you happen to dizzy someone… however…
the HERO version of the Rush Super is invincible from when he starts running forward until the hit, and the recovery is GONE. You get frame advantage on this. You can, as a result, pretty much ‘throw this out and see what happens’. Sometimes, they will block, and you can c.hp to guard crush and start your rush down. Sometimes, they will be throwing a TIDAL WAVE and you will go RIGHT THROUGH and fuck them up.
Dragon’s got an air throw, which is very nice, so try hp for air to air sometimes. His j.hk is godly, and j.mk is good air to air too. Abuse his walljump like mad. He WOULD have a great throw game, due to his footspeed, but his f+hp throw does pitiful damage. IF you can, use his b+hp throw when ‘mixing it up’.
