I’m wondering if anyone has figured out any good anti HK Hornet Bomber technology yet. Getting stomped online by people spamming it (Filia/Parasoul) is getting frustrating.
Countering it… as Double?
Block it, then punish based on what the point character is doing.
The 3f window to interrupt the assist isn’t really all that useful, realistically all it does is prevent stupid assist calls. You have to just block it and punish.
From long range you can just swat the assist out of the air or use something like Napalm Pillar assist to safely punish it.
As long as a launcher hits anyone, it can be canceled into a jump, making it completely safe. Doesn’t matter if the point blocks it or not, if you smack the assist, just jump and it’s safe 1000 damage.
If Peacock tries to cover with gunshots, you bionic car. Hits both of them, doesn’t matter what Peacock does once she devotes to firing a gun.
If she doesn’t, stHK (jHP jHK) repeat as many times as you can before Peacock stops you. Assist has lost a chunk of their health.
If you’re out of meter though, you’re boned, because now Peacock can just cover the assist with gun and there’s nothing you can do but take the chip/meter.
This applies to most other matchups too, but in some you have a meterless solution - simply do an HK bomber right back to beat out whatever their point was going to do and punish the assist. Of course this only works if the startup invincibility on bomber is enough to beat out what the point was doing…
It takes a while to learn to not autopilot the process, you have to watch the opponent closely and immediately stop attacking when it’s clear they’re going to stop what you’re doing, but at the same time you want to squeeze that assist as hard as you can.
Is say it depends. I use Solo Double so any Damage to assists is good damage imo. but you do want to squeeze every drop. sometimes I go for my bnb. and other times I hornet bomber back, with medium.
I Hornett bomber back if they remain at fullscreen because it’s less distance and you can still bound them if you have meter call Catheads because then they are put between a rock and a hard place. The rock being double because double is gonna do a lot of hurt to what ever approaches her the wrong way.

one way that ive been dealing with hornet bomber (with pillar assist) is to react to hornet bomber with pillar (easy to do if they are calling out bomber from full or 3/4 screen… slightly harder yet doable closer) and then jumping forward to block the bomber and slow it down so that my pillar can safely activate and hit the bomber.
this also allows offensiveness via dashes since you can dash towards while looking for bomber, see it, react with pillar then jump. though its hard to do sometimes. especially if your close to its spawn point. another way is to rush into its 1 hit only spot, then take that 1 blocked hit and mash pillar. though thats not so great sometimes because the opponent may have meaty frames coming against that overlap with the first hit of hornet bombers blockstun.
i seriously think bomber is OP, but there are ways of dealing with it.
