i liked umezono/yuki/matsuda from last year. too bad K and Chinta were playing too perfect
I’m not really familiar with the qualifiers (or the English language for that matter) so what does runner-up mean in this case - that Kokujin’s team got second?
Also, are you allowed to go to more than one arcade to try and qualify? So that you have multiple tries?
The runner-ups don’t get anything - only the winning team is qualified to go to SBO. They ARE allowed as many tries as they can so long as they are willing to travel to arcades that are having a qualifier.
I remember Vanao and Pierre coming up short last year like 3 different times ugh.
I hope Vanao does it this year, the dude works really hard.
(But secretly I’m hoping whoever Yamazaki is with will shit all over everyone)
This is a cool team. Never even seen yaoichi, but love Kokujin and Yuki. Hope they qualify together.
Yaoichi (blue ken) OCV’d me, Ed, Gootecks, Fubarduck and Justin Wong in a 5on5 in Japan.
yep kokujin is on a strong team then…good luck to that guy
Is Gootecks at pro level in 3S? I always see him get slaughtered.
can’t agree more
and koshun plays a really aggressive chun. will be interesting to see how he does it at a top level since it seems a bit too predictable
koushun seems to stun people a lot more than other chuns
Gootecks is really good, but you can’t compare him to RX or Messatsu Yarou or Pierre the same way you can compare Pyrolee to top japanese Yun’s.
lol i don’t know why people always underestimate gootecks.
he took out the 2 remaining japanese players on the team they were up against in sbo (kofiend took out the first) to push his team to the second round. so i mean that should speak for itself.
^yeah gootecks is a good 3s player…Is he gonna go this year for 3s or sf4?
I think SF4 is a much higher priority. I imagine he’ll participate in qualifiers, but he’s not among the group of people who are actively training in 3s to qualify for SBO in 3s.
hopefully we can get a strong team for the 3s quals in the US
probably half the old 3s players will stick to 3s for SBO…
d dudley, tottori ryu, furo yang is the 3rd(?) team to qualify
http://www.tougeki.com/prelim?id=3406
gold rush (rx’s team, unless theres another team with the same name) made final 4 but brackets show that they lost.
??'09 FINAL! READY FIGHT!
The site is so confusing. Doesn’t the red icon mean they qualified directly into SBO, while the blue icon means they qualified to participate in a larger regional qualifier? Or is that not what it means at all?
ah good point. ill try to figure it out
You have it right.
D, tottori and furo are a set team, but they’re not there yet.
RX (UR), Vanao (RY) & Koushun (CH) won the B6 qualifier spot. Seems like MOV teamed up with KO and Mester.
