Only because dumb parents brainwash their kids into believing the same shit they were brainwashed with.
Regardless, if the kid grows up and DECIDES (is old enough to understand and consent) then have at it, saw at that dick all day. But parents don’t have a right to make those decisions for them.
How did they not tell her that happened? It almost makes me think they had a comedy-movie style cover up moment in the operating room.
Doctor 1: Alright start by making the incision, and then we’ll go from there.
Doctor 2: Beginning procedure.
<insert time skip>
Doctor 3: WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO!!?
Doctor 2: I dont know what happened man i moved the blade and that shit just came off!
Doctor 1: Both of you shut the fuck alright! Listen, maybe if we just stop the bleeding, and dont tell the mom…maaaaaaybeeee they wont notice we lopped his dick off?
Doctor 3: Are you serious?
Doctor 2: Yeah maybe we should at least try duct-tape first or something…
Doctor 1: I think this is the best way to handle it. Just make sure the nurse rushes the mom out the door.
In all seriousness though those guys fucked up big time. Kid’s life is ruined before he was even a year old.
I’m surprised no local anaesthesia is ever an option, I’ve not heard of that before. When it is administered properly a baby should feel no pain. I was just calling azure out for making up bullshit. Holding a babies legs from kicking whilst the doc snips is different from the bullshit he described.
And they will generally prefer whatever is the norm in their own community.
American girls prefer circumcised because the majority of americans are circumcised.
If you ask girls from countries such as mine (UK) where the majority are uncircumcised they will tell you the opposite.
‘What girls prefer’ is time and place specific and should bear no influence on whether or not you mutilate an infant’s genitals.
Circumcision is available in adulthood for those who want it or need it for medical reasons. There is absolutely no defense for forcing it upon babies.
sending the kid home without notifying the parent of the botch job just blows my mind here. what did they expect to happen? I don’t know shit about medicine, but maybe there would have been a chance to fix it if they immediately called an ambulance.
"brainwash their kids"
WOW. Just WOW. The word you’re looking for is “raise”. This is brainwash:
-“Systematic effort to destroy an individual’s former loyalties and beliefs and to substitute loyalty to a new ideology or power.”
“former loyalties and beliefs” is a key here.
Or if you want a medical definition:
-“a forcible indoctrination to induce someone to give up basic political, social, or religious beliefs and attitudes and to accept contrasting regimented ideas”
Now before you say something stupid like “religion is the opposite of atheism -the norm- and therefore it is brainwashing” keep in mind that babies are born WITHOUT beliefs, and that atheism is the belief that there is no god or greater deity, NOT the lack of belief. So if you’re looking at having a belief, i.e. religion, as the opposite of lacking one and therefore is “brainwashing”, then by that logic, atheism should also be considered to be “brainwashing”.
"But parents don’t have a right to make those decisions for them."
This is so fucking hilarious. Do you even know what a “right” is? Because it seems that you think it means whatever the hell you believe is moral. LOL.
I’m not arguing with semantics right now. Hell, I don’t wanna get into an argument about circumcision; I’m just pointing out the hilarity of what you’re saying.
Good people do good things and evil people do evil things. But religion makes good people do evil things.
If this religious law is so important to you, then at least change it so it can only be done on consenting adults rather than babies who can’t object to it.
“Anything that is against my own morals HAS to be morally wrong!”
Seriously, what are the effects of circumcision?
Let’s explore:
-Prevents phimosis, paraphimosis and balanoposthitis. (Pro)
-Increases the chance of meatitis. (Con)
-May result in a decreased incidence of urinary tract infections. (Pro)
-May result in a lower incidence of sexually transmitted diseases and may reduce HIV transmission. (Pro)
-May lower the risk for cancer of the cervix in sexual partners. (Pro)
-May decrease the risk for cancer of the penis. (Pro)
-Reduced sexual pleasure? (Con?)
So this guy is saying that a procedure that has a chance of reducing cancer, HIV and other health problems and increases the chances of meatitis (an inflammation that “can be treated by application of an antibiotic ointment and keeping the area dry.”) is evil? That it is morally wrong?
Why is it morally wrong? Because it doesn’t align with your beliefs of what is right and wrong, or is it because of the not-so-subtle loathing of religion?
Let’s tackle the other con: it reduces sexual pleasure. What would that mean? It means that I don’t seek pleasure in sexual activity as much as the uncircumcised because I’m not getting as much pleasure from it. So what would a person who can’t get pleasure from other places. Like becoming a successful person at my field of study and being more productive, something more rewarding and beneficial than kinky things you do behind closed doors.
What’s wrong is that you think you have the right - based on YOUR religious beliefs - to decide that you can limit the sexual pleasure and experiences of an innocent person because YOU believe that ‘studying more’ is better than all those gross ‘kinky things’ he could be enjoying instead…
That’s his decision and not yours. It’s his body, his life and not yours.
And as for saying we should remove everyone’s foreskin at birth just in case they develop phimosis or some other condition later in life (which could be cured at the point of diagnosis, at any age, by a medically necessary circumcision) is akin to saying I should cut off my child’s feet because it’s less hassle than treating the verruca he may never get.
It’s morally wrong because you are inflicting mutilation on another human being without their consent because that is what you believe to be right - with not a moment’s thought for the wishes of the person to whom that penis belongs to. The person who will have to accept the irreversible change that’s being made to their body.
The arrogance of that position is abhorrent.
I on the other hand believe everyone’s absolutely free to hack off whichever parts of their bodies they wish. When they are old enough to make that decision themselves. My belief does not force anything upon anyone. My belief system is not oppressive to other people.
whether there’s benefit to circumcision or not I don’t think it should be done to infants, when they are old enough to decide themselves whether they want it or not is how it should be done.
Also there has been cases where older males have lost their penis in accidents and were replaced by their pinky finger (since your fingers are pretty sensitive), with their consent of course, and they were happy to have a dick again. It also functions like a normal penis.
First off, I’d like to thank you for twisting my words. “Studying more” “gross”. You’re so funny and cute. Like I said "becoming a successful person at my field of study and being more productive, something more rewarding and beneficial than kinky things you do behind closed doors."
Now compare what I actually said to what you think I said (even though it’s right there).
"What’s wrong is that you think you have the right…"
There goes another one thinking their morals are what “rights” are and actually the rights a person has.
"And as for saying we should remove everyone’s foreskin at birth just in case they develop phimosis or…"
And again twisting my words! You said something on my behalf I never said. WOW!
"… is akin to saying I should cut off my child’s feet because it’s less hassle than treating the verruca he may never get."
Except feet are necessary and foreskin isn’t. Except for fapping.
"It’s morally wrong because you are inflicting mutilation…"
Removing an appendix is mutilation, too, right?
"…accept the irreversible change that’s being made to their body."
Oh my god, I can’t stop laughing. Here’s what someone posted on this thread: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=foreskin+restoration
Honey, did you even look up the stuff you are saying before saying them?
