Man, that’s a crappy situation no matter how you look at it. It’s good that she got away from her toxic college ‘friends’, but she still shouldn’t have lied to her husband like that. In a sense, the last 4 years of this dude’s life were a lie, he has every right to be angry.

I find it extremely hard to believe there would be a 29 year old virgin who dated throughout and after college. Her parents screwed the guy over too, just like she did. And he was rather foolish too.
If you’re a high earning virgin male, you have got to pick a younger female. A 22 year old Indian woman that lived with her parents through college would probably work, far less a chance of this type of thing. But man at 29, that’s hard to believe, at least for me. I have known a few women that have been virgins, although usually they didn’t date, and none at 29. 25-26 or so seems to be the last realistic age for that. I could have told this guy that hah.
Although truth be told, I don’t understand the cultural emphasis on virginity. I would understand if it was religion, but religion is not mentioned anywhere there. That is why she had no compulsion not to lie either. If she wanted to avoid this stuff because of religion she certainly wouldn’t think nobody would find out, I’d assume she’d believe God would know and she’d have sinned.
For a non-religious culture, I don’t know the point of valuing chastity. Most people aren’t religious these days anyway. If you are, then finding someone that shares your belief is a really big deal, moreso than the virginity thing really, but if they share the belief they’d be virgins too.

It’s definitely possible for someone to go away to college and not have sex, especially given their cultural background. He probably figured that she was someone with similar values who was saving herself for marriage, and he got duped. There’s no real way for him to have been able to detect that she was lying about her past.
I always saw “beta” as a term for someone who lacked a sense of confidence or drive. You can be a confident introvert or a really wimpy extrovert.
Which is part of the issue as that is definitely untrue, that is not what beta stands for or is. Both Obama and Bill Gates would be considered beta’s but neither lack confidence or drive.
