Eh…alright, I’ll start going at player matches more often. I wish there was a way to know whether you were challenging a good player or not. It’s not that fun to play against people with fuerte when they don’t realize what his moves do.
The problem I’m having with guile is that he’ll throw a sonic boom and advance, and I’m not always sure how to escape him. His slide is destroying anything I intuitively do on the ground, and when I go into run cancel I get flash kicked, or blocked if I slide. I bate flashkicks sometimes and that works, and once they realize I’m doing it I can start mixing up, but it just seems like he throws a move out at some point and it shuts me down no matter what. I hate how slow sonic booms move. I have less trouble with Sagat…I guess I’m still just ultra scrubby, though. I also get ripped up by good Guile players in HDR sometimes too, so maybe it’s a mental thing.
Going into a player match where I can repeatedly play someone and learn matchups might help. LOL It’s just so far I always wind up against someone lower on the totem pole than me and they refuse to go away despite the ass beatings, and I feel bad kicking them. I’ll stop creating my own room. That should do it.
Also to Gandara and Hogosha, I finally stopped picking Fight Req matches and it’s working. Sweet Jesus. Holding onto my dick for dear life has also never been a problem.
Two Madison players – I know SOME people in Madison play SF4, or are at least trying. They play SC4 mostly, so it’ll probably be easier getting in contact with them on 8wayrun.com or something.
rly? never heard about that website. There are -some- players here but mostly at a beginner / low-intermediate level. i was able to win the west madison gamestop tournament using no ultras at all and only had to use my super like twice. Tim won the one downtown.
