I’ve had this Wireless Qanba Q3 PS3 stick for around 15 months now, and in the last few days I’ve noticed it pressing random buttons by itself - I’d suspected this issue for a while, but sitting in training mode has made it very obvious and noticeable. I can just sit with the stick on the sofa and it’ll be jumping away, or hitting attack buttons, or most frequently hitting the PS button.
While trying to investigate, I turned the stick off, and noticed that the issue continued despite this - which leads me to suspect that it’s something wrong with the wireless dongle plugged into the PS3. Something causing interference of some kind, perhaps. Any ideas?
Have you swapped out any parts? When I first got mine in early 2010, I swapped out the buttons for a matching set of buttons and had a similar problem. I emailed the guys at Qanba because I thought mine was defective. They promptly replied by suggesting to re-connecting the cables and lo and behold, problem went away, months later, I had the Q3 dual modded so I didn’t have to go wireless anymore. Fantastic stick, sadly had to sell it…I regret it now.
I haven’t swapped any parts, no. But I am gonna have to open it up, since there’s rattling and movement inside the stick when I pick it up. The (unused) buttons on the left hand side - turbo, mode, and the spare - are completely unsecured and fall out when the stick is tilted, so I assume whatever’s meant to be securing them in place is what’s rattling around inside the stick. Possibly that movement is what’s causing this issue, though it did seem a bit weird to me that this would create an issue even when the stick is off…
Thanks for the help, though, hopefully it’ll be as simple as re-connecting the cables for me too! And yeah, I’m really considering getting it modded so I don’t have to go wireless anymore either.
Hope so, when I was fiddling with my friend’s HRAP3 and figuring out the color codes, the stick would do random things too because the contacts on the quick disconnects were touch each other activating the commands. Could be loose wires just bring randomly active.
Anyway, hope that’s the only problem, if not, I’m sure there are plenty of Q3 Wireless owners here that can help.
I have a problem. I cant associate this arcade stick with dongle. How possible?
