Winkawaks Tornament
rescently, me and H3nry and VoG have been thinking about
holding a Winkawaks Tornament over Netplay.
What games do you guys want the tornament to be
on so far, I can garantee that

Samurai Showdown 5 (Normal/not boss version)
Garuo: Marks of the Wolvs
The King of Fighters 2003
The Last Blade 2

This will desync on kawaks. Most of the games made before Garou desync horribly on that emulator.
Everyone switched to MAME32k for a reason. If this was an all CPS1/2 tournament, then it might’ve worked, but if you’re doing that many neo geo games, you’re gonna need to stick with MAME.
Also, you’d get more people for 2K2 than you would for 2K3.
Chances are this tournament is in Europe anyway though given your choice of emulator. Either that, or you’re very new to netplay.
If you switch it to MAME32k 0.64, and if the tournaments hosted on an american server, I’ll sign up for Last Blade 2. This is probably gonna end up like the last LB tournament I was in though, where the match-ups were really imbalanced, because most of the people playing were either beginners or top guys. Games like Last Blade don’t have a lot of middleground players.
Here’s thing, MAME 32k 0.64
I have it works, but a probleam, when I am playing
it seems to slow down… like really bad, I tried many
changes in the video and sound settings still, the game turns slow,
if you know a the best settings, please any help would be great.
I’ve synced up that game with kawaks twice. Once in an emulinker server with some dude who had the same connection setting as me (i was downloading in the beginning ^^ and he always lagged). Another time with this guy in mexico with an experimental client on a normal server but that hack doesnot work on emulinker servers. Its not true that it desyncs. By the defination of synchronization, it doesn’t start in sync. Its one of the few glitches kaillera has.
I also think everything but sfa3 and motw will desync under normal conditions. From my early days experiance with ss5 and 2003 and lb2 and older hacked version of kawaks 1.45 playing with otaku nerds, it desyncs like crazy. I dont know how good 1.56 is for those new games like ss5 and 2003 but you might want to try them first on the server you are going to host the tournament. You will be tearing your hair off with last blade 2.
Anyways, if you need a netplay recorder that wont desync with what you see on the screen (including dips and whatever else) or with kawaks(it cant record online) for your tourney, give me a buzz and ill make you something small and fast.

Press TAB in-game to set controls.
Make sure you only play using Good or Excellent. Emulinker servers can’t handle LAN, and make sure you use windowed mode, since full screen mode can give you a lot of problems, especially if you’re running windows in 16-bit color mode.
If it’s still slow, there’s something seriously wrong with your computer.
Even if the tournament doesn’t happen (which it probably won’t given the total lack of interest shown so far), I’ll gladly take out your current reigning LB2 champ whenever he’s got the time. I don’t see how he can be the champ if this is the first tournament you’ve hosted.

The “Samurai Shodown 5 (Secret Boss Edition)” games that you see are actually Samurai Shodown 5 Special that was hacked into MAME using that romset. No one plays vanilla Samsho 5 on Kaillera.
