i really wanted to stay for the whole tourney, but i couldnt. i have serious health problems and after i lost to justin in arcana my body gave out and i pretty much fell apart. theres no way i coulda stayed for my melty and super turbo matches, or else i woulda really lost it. my wife had to come get me and she hates drivin in philly more then me. well, long story short i won’t ever be comin back. congratulations to all the winners. it was nice meetin u guys 2. and nas, your a good guy man. take care every1

Good games to everyone. Tourney was fun, but definitely severely flawed in its execution.

i played as honda and dhalsim. i really love to play as honda, but i’m not good enough to work around the fireballers, so i gave my other choice, the dhalism, a few rounds. he’s always fun to play and watch. justin took the title with some solid meat and potatoes play that just couldn’t be beat, but spence wins the title of “people’s champion” for a more interesting and entertaining approach with dhalsim making his way here, there, and everywhere with some truly gratifying super combos. i had a great time today. thanks to all those who came out. looking forward to the next one. new york crew, let’s hit up chinatown more often.
thanks to the accent core crowd as well. khan/kahn(sp?), i think i’m gonna have to try to work out that loop you had. that was nice, man. if only i could have performed the potemkin buster with reliability, i may have stood a chance against josh and goshi. instead, i just sponged up hit after hit from some solid combo work. oh well. maybe next time. i was just happy to get a chance to play some guilty gear. good games, guys.
btw, there was a guy who lost a money match (not to me) and didn’t pay up for reasons i wish were unknown. if anyone knows who this guy is or what he looks like, i think he is fair game for some good old fashioned public shaming or, at least, a quiet blacklisting.
Thanks for the great games you guys at the guilty gear section. I had lots of fun and experience. I’ll most likely be back next every month if this is going to be a monthly thing.
spelling is khan btw =). Potemkin buster is key to his game, it like resets the momentum. The loop i pretty much learn by watching some videos on youtube and borrowed it haha. Now the main thing i really need to practice on is instant blocking strings from dizzy and eddie

hello everyone and thanks for comming to the tourny it was great seeing all of you here at the arcade and keeping UNIVERSITY PINBALL still on the map. About the tv’s in the back, the left one that everyone was playing on has some technicle difficulties so i am returning it and getting a new one so when you come back to play some more PS2 or XBOX 360 it will be crystal clear like the other one. Thanks everyone who helped with the tourny in setting it up and just giving a hand here and there. that guy lost his money to NAS when i walked in earlier in the he straight out didnt pay cuz he felt cheated… U LOSE U PAY BE A MAN U SHOOK ON IT DONT MATTER HOW IT HAPPENED U LOST N THEN U LOST IN TOURNY TO HIM SO DONT BE A PUNK. then he tryed bring race into it… man noone their was racist cept for maybe you calling every guy their white boy every two seconds even after you were told their name… that shit brings the community down you need to grow up sir
if you know this guy’s name or have a pic (very unlikely) you should post that info for people to see. do a “don’t accept checks from this man” kind of thing. we can’t be having welchers over here, much less, racist welchers.
that being said, there are some things people should consider for money matches. you need to have the cash ponied up before the match begins. it should be held by a 3rd party and you need at least that game’s community to witness the match. i would also suggest you guys keep those wagers a little lower. people are a lot less likely to welch on a 5 or 20 dollar bet than a 100 dollar bet.
khan, i’m gonna watch some vids myself and see if i can get the buster back. i could swear it was more forgiving in sharp reload and slash, but i might just be imagining things. i’ve never been one to blame the machine, so to speak, so i feel it’s likely just me being out of practice.
i love potemkin busting the momentum of my opponent. as long as i can pull off one or two, i am satisfied. that one seemingly mystical vacuum buster against yoshi was probably the highlight of the night for me, super turbo included.
