I think they’re showing specific scenes in the trailers so they can market to the superhero movie crowd that generates big BO numbers (double entendre). Take away the superhero-ish stuff and it sounds like a smart comedy (or maybe it’s just because Jason Bateman’s in it).
I never make final judgements based on Rottentomatoes since I hate movie critics. But they are at least a good sign of what to expect.

This movie was having problems getting a pg13 rating, they had to get it reviewed over 8 times. Therefore I’m lead to believe there will be a uncut version for the DVD (or so I hope)
yo the latest trailers had me rolling. the look on those prisoners faces was too ridiculous.

Apparently this movie has been reviewed extraordinarily poorly. One review I saw called it the worst movie of the year. Hopefully it’s so bad that it’s good. If it truly is a bad movie, I’m curious to see if Will Smith’s ridiculous drawing power can salvage a break even for the flick.
After the way the critics unfairly slammed Speed Racer, I could care two shits less about ANY critics impressions of any movie including this one.
gawddd damn. i didnt think they were gonna top the action in the last one…but it looks like they did.
yeahhh boy. i can see bond getting closer and closer to the cold blooded killer we know. this must be the reason why bond is such an emotionless badass.
I don’t imagine it’ll rate has highly as Wanted, but it’s still a little early. Only 16 reviews so far, hardly any top critics, and the movie hasn’t been released yet. Before Wanted was released, it had a 98% or something, but the reasoning was the same. Hardly anyone had released their reviews for it at the time. Now it’s sitting pretty at 78 or 75. Things might change a bit for Hancock.

I love anything to do with superheroes, and Will Smith is on my top 10 list of favourite actors. When I heard about this I knew it would be good.
It’s different from other superhero movies and I like that.
the will smith hype machine is too strong for critics.
from what i understand of the plot…its not that diff of superhero movies. lol basically they took the original plot of dragon ball…from what ive seen in trailers and made him into a bum. i wont be surprised one bit if hes supposed to destroy the earth and forgot.

But yeah, the hype and funny bits released in trailers and commercials will propel this to be a blockbuster movie. It looks a bit corny but if it is played with the right balance, it shouldn’t suck.
It won’t be the best movie of the summer but no way do I see this being anything less than entertaining.
