This game’s combo system is obnoxiously link-oriented, possibly worse in SF4 since you have extended combo opportunities and therefore more links to possibly connect.
This game’s footsie game is a breath of fresh air though! Especially with the Tekken characters who have so many exceptional normals. The mid-range game is a lot different as well. I think this will be like CvS2 where Sagat doesn’t use his fireballs very much.
Nah, the Tekken characters just need a lot of adjusting to get into. If you are coming from SF4, the adjustments won’t be too difficult but you’re going to probably have to compromise and ditch half of the habits you had in that game. For everyone else that has played older Capcom fighters, I think this is right up the block.
I’ve been trying to use Law and Nina online. A lot of people seem to respect the range a lot after you go past two or three fireballs and the footsies get tense. If you’re worried about DPs, a lot of good pokes and strings are pretty far away for most people to gauge an uppercut. They’d have to pretty much be unaware of anything and just throw it out.
Only with the “crappier than mk9” bit, and the jury’s still out on that. But come on, seriously. And yeah, BlazBlue, even with all their flaws, were still better games then the SFIV series, deal with it
You’re assuming that’s why it attracts a beginner audience–I’d like to think it’s because Street Fighter as a game is just more fun. But, that’s just me.
