They need to give Street Fighter a rest and give us a brand new fighter.
You guys suuure you want another Rival Schools game?
- ANIMEEEEEE plot and aesthetics
- The spammy evil sports-themed potential love interest loli and Ex-Racist Terry Bogard were S-tier
- Typical balding teacher was a literal Ryu clone
- Broken as hell in both games
- Quasi 3D like Bloody Roar, but without the pace or accessibility.
I love the game, but any other developer, and it in the modern community is doomed.
It does when it means it won’t get the reboot that it deserves. What’s unique about VSav will likely be downplayed or removed and a new game will most likely only serve to damage the current community for it. The majority of people who want new DS, Rival Schools or Power Stone don’t even want them because the previous games were good (And the latter two series aren’t even good competitive games to begin with).
I remember Power Stone 1 being decent enough competitively, just not deep at all.
Honestly, I’d rather they give a shot at a new DS and it be crap then them not make one at all. You can always fall back on VSav if the new game really was ass. SFIV didnt stop people from playing 3S and ST.
Marvel 2 is a completely different game from Marvel 3, didn’t stop it from being killed off. ST is stagnant compared to what it was + HDR quickly died off (Though not solely because of SF4) and 90% of the people who have continued playing 3s all these years will just keep doing so. Besides, most people have difficulty smelling shit nowadays.
Edit: Prolly more accurate to say all they’ve smelled is shit so they’re used to it and don’t wanna with roses.
Or the shit is beginning to grow on them.
I feel that a lot of UMVC3 players are eating it up even though they hate it.
I will never understand this either.
It baffles me why non sponsored players some of whom don’t even go to tournaments, keep playing this game while claiming they hate it. Why the fuck would you spend your money on a game you hate?
Just give the new DS to Ishizawa. Last I checked, he was still in Capcom and still working on FGs.
At the very least, the juggle system is annoying the scrubs at Unity who hate the idea of being able to extend combos beyond a certain point.
Also, they implemented “hold-start to pause,” so someone in that team is listening to our idea.
Remembers me the people who never heard about 3S before SFIV and 3SOE
.
Is the new trend now, there is a lot of examples in other communities as well (WOW and COD cough…)
They think it’s fun…up until the point where they fight Wesker, or a teleport character, or a character with stupid good normals, or a character with good keepaway, or a character with easy combos, or a character with a lot of health, or a character with two eyes, or a character who can actually hurt them.
Other than that, it’s fun.
For fighting game hipster cred of course.
@xDREADxKICK
okay. two things you posted :
i guess you must be the latest fighting game prodigy to whoop SF4’s ass.
can you clarify th-- er, nvm…
imo, an honest-to-goodness, new sequel to SF4, i.e. SF5; will take Capcom a long-ass time to produce + release due to the fact that 99% of the people who bought and played a game that came out in 2008 with no major changes had already expressed [they still do to this very moment, actually] their criticisms. if Cpacom had really botched up the SF franchise, they would be very careful to release a new product in fear of displeasing fighting game connoisseurs such as OP.
Power Stone 2 was a far better game than the first one and i have to agree with Marmalade-Beat that the system wasn’t deep enough since it is a party game of sorts. undeniably boat-loads of fun though [especially with 3 other players, it’s a mess] and for me that was important. hell, a new Power Stone or Rival Schools game may not be tourney-worthy but if it was still awesome to play, it certainly makes for a good distraction from the SF/MVC “crap” some people keep complaining about.
8P
Yeah those people that did the PS2 jojo’s game.
When they do an SF5 I think they should incorporate a Sonny Chiba ripoff character to finally tie the fucking series in with the original Street Fighter movie (which was an obvious inspiration) and the Sonny Chiba character should have a move where he rips someone’s balls off with his bare hands.
Yes
Contextually, I do put emphasis on that plural.
Mainstream audiences have regressed to the 1980s.
Just remake SFEX2P with better graphics and call it SF5.
You know what? Lower down the combo damage (seriously, intentional touch of death? What the FUCK?), and change the way mobility works, and that’s what SFxT should have been imo.
I see SFV half way in the next generation of consoles. By then SF series would be thick with SF4 history and players craving a sequel. For now Capcom is gonna concentrate on SFxT.
