Have you actually played it? I don’t like how a lot of the game is looking atm either, but people should atleast play the game before they make such big statements.
Someone find the interview in which Ono says that future SF games will cater (even)more to the lazy players that don’t want to learn anything. He compared losing in SF to losing in an FPS. Because “it’s not fun” not knowing how to play and getting killed. Too bad the problem is that the lazy player doesn’t want to learn in the first place.
If Ultras return and a Rage system like vanilla Tekken 6 shows up, I won’t be surprised.
People forget that before the Gem thing was announced a good number of folks actually liked the system behind it.
Project Justice is a whole lot of fun, up until you really start to abuse the tardy cancel system with Roberto/Momo. Then it gets pretty busted.
Still fun, though.
I was pretty hyped for SFxT before DLC Gems. When the gem system was originally announced I thought it sounded kind of neat (but I expected it to be a separate mode or something) when I found out it wasn’t I was a little disappointed. But what has killed it for me was the DLC gems and Pandora mode (which is really really ugly looking to top it off.)
I liked the game before that. The whole “4 button combos from tekken work with the 6 button layout” the chain combo systems, the launchers, the super bar, the ability to charge moves, all were pretty neat.
@Cryoh
Capcom can always rectify the systems they have in older games, although sometimes, it may not be to everybody’s liking. see what they did to SF4 with the ultras and focus attacks? a new Project Justice game will need to have new gameplay mechanics of course. but they have to leave Akira and her helmet alone… badass biker chicks are awesome.

Darkstalkers needs the reboot much more. Power Stone was a party game.
And everyone knows what Rival Schools is. Its in mvc3, its in tvc, its in cvs2.
Most people I knew who played TvC and CvS2 had no idea where Batsu and Kyusuke were from.
They had never heard of Rival Schools. A LOT of people haven’t.
I have played it.
Whatever the hell they make next, I hope it hits arcades before consoles.

As much as I shit on it I don’t see how it’s worse than SF4. I think it will be a bit better actually.
Sure, you probably dont know what it is before playing the game, but then you find out after playing it. You see a character you dont know, then you either find out via a bio section or you look it up or something. Thus a lot of people who played cvs2 and tvc know what rival schools is.
A lot of people don’t know squat about Rival Schools and Capcom could make a decent(key word) one in this day and age. Making a Darkstalkers game that is faithful would probably require some awesome DBZ fusion of several developers spanning across Niitsuma’s team, Reverge Labs and ASW which means it’s nearly impossible.
Also, SFxTekken is already a party(shit, Smash is also a party game, but one of the best fighters ever so don’t take it as an insult) game so I don’t see how that should be a problem for Powerstone.
if they do I hope they dont let “the Fighting Jam” guys handle it.
lol i find the difficulty in SF4 easy. And I don’t think anyone wants to shell out 30 dollars for a game that has been out since 2008. unless they make major changes.
CFJ is cool so maybe they should let “the Fighting Jam” guys handle their games instead of “the guys who made SF4 and every subsequent Capcom fighting game”
Capcom Fighting Jam is better than SFIV.
in other news I got my project justice arcade board yesterday. and yes it is much better than SSF4AE2012 edition
if capcom releases a new game I just h ope its good because I’m getting tired of playing SFEX3. SFxT had hope but a limited tag system was annoying (compared to EX3), now with forced gems seals it in the “do not buy” list.
Just because it’d be really difficult to reboot DS doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen. Its one of the most unique series and Vampire Savior is one of the best fighting games ever. It deserves the reboot much more than Power Stone which is Capcom’s smash bros and Rival Schools which was a pretty interesting experiment but proved to not be as popular or long lasting as its other series (btw Rival Schools is pretty cool and I’d be psyched for a new version.)
Brawl is a party game. Melee and 64 might have been designed that way but those games are fighters. Early builds of Sf x T were fighting games.
