Hey guys, noobie here. Just bought my first arcade stick controller, for my nintendo switch. I bought the 8bitdo nes30 arcade. I already ordered sanwa buttons. Now I just need the stick.
Is it true that sanwa sticks are a pain to put on the nes30 because of the 5 pin connector? If so, then I’m looking at the blee arcade controller.
The question is,
Will this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004AU0H4U/
Fit into this?
I’m not sure if it’s a pain to add a JLF into the NES30 stick, but the gate may be drop in, it may not be, doubt anyone here really knows for sure. I’m assuming that the NES30 is using .187 QDs to wire up the joystick (since you linked a JLF clone using .187 terminals instead of a PCB assembly), and since the JLF is using 5-pin harness, it’s a hassle. But honestly, I’d just grab a Sanwa or Seimitsu joystick and then make a female 5-pin harness to male .187 QDs to throw it in there or grab a Seimitsu joystick with .187 terminals as its method of connection.
Also there are plenty of options in the joystick market. Personally my favorite is the LS-40, but if you absolutely need the octogate, then the LS-56 isn’t a bad option either imo.
If you absolutely want a JLF and its octogate, then take out the microswitch assembly and four of these in instead and then wire them up: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Omron-Electronics/D3V-16-1C25-K/?qs=9%2bE%2bQNNXqPwnDShbyPLSrg%3D%3D
Just my 2 cents
EDIT: Newb questions on modding 8bitdo NES30 Arcade Stick with Sanwa joystick
It’s not common ground, but honestly, just read this thread here
Thanks mate. Another question, where can I get the wires with the already equipped white squarish tip? The video at 11:30 to see what I mean. https://youtu.be/xOo94DXMXPE
Also, since the blee is a replica, it will fit the octagon from Santa, right?
@ledave952 If the stick you have has a 5 pin connector, you should be able to use a Sanwa. I’m not sure about the blee you’re taking about, but maybe “Santa” will know. lol . BTW you can get those quick disconnects from Focus Attack or probably paradise arcade shop might have them too.
