WiiU stick mod for tekken

Who will be brave / crazy enough to create a padhacked WiiU stick with the screen in it?

There better be some way to create custom sticks for that system.

As long as Tekken WiiU and any other fighting games that are released on the console allow us to use the Wii Remote, we’ll probably be able to use one of Toodles’ trusty boards to play fighting games on the WiiU.

The video showed drawing on the chars faces, would be cool to have all-in-one

Would that even be possible?

This is Tech Talk… we make it possible

Well, excuse me.

We’ll figure something out, hopefully. I’ve said it before though, I fully expect every console from here on out to use peripheral authentication like the Xbox360.
But, if this image is any indicator, there is a good chance Wii-mote based peripherals can still be used on the WiiU, which is good news for the PiiWee.

Can anyone confirm or deny that the WiiU has gamecube ports? If so: problem solved!

They didn’t mention gamecube compatibility so i doubt it. However, they didn’t give specs either.

There is a madcatz and a hori stick out for Wii, don’t forget.

Was going to sell a PiiWee I had laying around too. Good info man! Think I’ll hold on to it now. = D

I suspect you’re right…

The days of carrying over old system joysticks WITHOUT gutting the interior and getting by on USB adapters may be over.

I’m amazed Sony used the same basic control laws for the generations of PS’s released so far.

Unless they do something different with the PS4, I’m not expecting the MC Cthulu or other current third-party replacement PCB’s to work with it.

We’re all most likely screwed and going have to buy new joysticks (I can sort of live with that) or wait a few years for “Third Party” PCB from Asia for the next round of systems… Good news is that the new consoles are still at least two years away! (Not counting Wii 2 — I’m not optimistic about that system’s chances. WiiU or whatever else they choose to call it is not going to be a big contender unless they can convince two generations of HARDCORE gamers they’re serious and actually come up with a steady supply of A-level games from A-level third party developers. The Wii was just sad with that stupid motion controller and very little apart from half-assed tech demos. I’m done with gimmicks from Marioland…)

In the meantime, maybe Microsoft AND Sony can actually manage to engineer next-gen systems that DON’T have all the bugs and breakdowns this past generation has had??? Would also be nice if the systems weren’t priced starting at $400 and going up to $600 for a complete system, too.

Consumers have been far too patient with all the jerking around that’s been done by all three console manufacturers. We’re way over due for a correction in the videogame industry and in spite of reduced console sales — NOBODY’S selling PS2 numbers — we’re not there.

Noobs, you do this off course.

A bit of an off topic preface: From a technological standpoint, this generation strikes me as being rather close to the ultimate betrayal of long time Nintendo customers. Sure, as usual Nintendo’s trying something new with the controller which is nothing surprising: Almost all their consoles bring something new to market. However for the Gameboy line they’d always emphasized how important battery life is and as par multiplayer support, they were the first to successfully implement four player support on their N64 (Atari actually did it first with the 5200 but the 5200 bit the big one due to generally crappy design), and have supported it ever since, until now: There’s a bit of a controversy surrounding a statement by a nintendo rep that only one of the new WiiU controllers will be provided and supported per system. Apparently there will there will only be one of the new touchscreen controllers per system.

The relevance this has to the topic is that other players will apparently need to utilize the Wiimotes. I see no reason for Nintendo to stop providing support for the compatible accessories, so they’ll probably work. Heck, Gamecube controllers are still being produced for the Wiii currently. Perhaps most importantly, I doubt classic controller support will be dropped, so I’m thinkin’ Tatsunoko sticks must be too. I was thinking of selling the two I have on the T.O. since I don’t even have a Wii but now I think I’ll hedge my bets and grab a couple more before anybody’s sure enough of the future. Also Gamecube compatibility isn’t entirely out of the question. Even the current Playstation 3s support Playstation 1 software. I hope Nintendo follows suit.

However nothing we see, know or guess about now is final until we see the product hit the store shelves. Remember the Boomerang controller for the PS3?

Well if the WiiU’s going to be Wiimote compatible, I don’t see how they can lock us out entirely. However I do expect Sony to move in this direction, in no small part thanks to you Mr. Lovecraft. You’ve made it so even exclusive PS3 owners would prefer the 360 stick just to be able to mod it. I’m definitely thinking about making some 360 VLXs purr myself in spite of not having a 360, due to the variety of older consoles I have…

However, I suppose it’s not entirely your fault. Madcatz helped a little too. I probably wouldn’t have bought so many xBox 360 T.E.s when I did if I hadn’t heard about the intel USB controller issue. Granted, at the time, I didn’t know Microsoft’s drivers wouldn’t directly support older games reliant on the X/Y Axis like Touhou but I bought like four 360 R1 controllers…

I have this to say about the Wii U. The day Nintendo announced the Wii U at E3, there stock dropped at the lowest point that have been for a decade.
They are actually losing investor support over this, unless Nintendo can pull its head from its ass and stop acting on its Toy manufacturing days.
They need to do marketing and design outlook that they did with the NES. The NES was not marketed as a Toy, or a Gaming Machine, it was marketed and sold as a part of a Home Entertainment Center. Same with the SNES. The Game Cube went back to being a Gaming Machine, a Toy; it was the only gaming console that refused to support CD music and Movies. PS2 and Xbox offered DVD support, Dreamcast played Music CDs and have web capabilities, Hell even the PS1 offered CD music and CD Video capabilities. Wii was late in that direction, in the form of Netflix. PS3 and the Xbox 360 isn’t just gaming consoles, they have Web support, CD, DVD and MP3 support as well as Computer Media center support. PS3 and PSP offers digital comic book subscription, support of internet Flash, and the Xbox 360 is going to support voice command Bling searches (via the Kinect or Mic) as some time this fall with a new menu update.

If Nintendo wants to play with the big boys, they need to play by big boy rules, your no longer a toy company any more Nintendo, stop acting like one.

If they didn’t have gimmiky gimmicks/toys though with the new consoles, people might find it hard to look past the fact Nintendo can only make sequels and remakes.

With this new device they have hit he point of no return. If the wii 3 doesn’t have some techno gimmick that is even more spiffy than the wiiu controller, they will go boom.

Perhaps they will redo virtual reality with wii 3 lol. The wii u me them turbo ultra.

I was thinking screen above so the stick wouldn’t be like 8 inches from the buttons,

I’d do it like this: hacking the controls as usual (up, down…) and installing the LCD on the bottom of the stick; either installing it in a steelframe, so the touchpad is usable when needed (after the match to paint your op’s face) or just putting it behind acrylic glass. But if you want to hear my honest opinion: tear off the touchpad!

Oh fuck us!
