Stupid question:
If I sell my Wii and want to buy another one, is there anyway to redownload the games I already bought on the previous one?
If not, do I have other options to get to them, or do I have to buy them again?

No. From the Virtual Console Wiki
This isn’t the thread for this but…WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOOOOOAA! I’m going to leave it at that.
Speaking of Muramasa…Vanillware has been pretty quiet…other than that rumor about the Odin Sphere/Muramasa HD collection. Hope it was sucessful enough to make a sequal somewhere down the road because they easily expand more on the combat and make it even better. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it…
I also mentioned about not being able to transfer stuff between Wii’s in the first post…it’s in the second paragraph. Had to make sure that info was mentioned.
DKCR is almost upon us guys. 1 more week and everyone will get the chance to take back our bananas…again.
I guess since Other M didn’t sell well then the chances of Nintendo doing more voice acting for characters has gone nearly completely into the crapper now. Oh well I guess.
Since now the big 3 will have had their big releases all within the span of a year…I’m actually starting to wonder what do they have planned 1st party wise for next year for Wii. There’s some franchises that people have been yelling for that hasn’t been touched yet…the biggest one I feel being F-Zero. It’s been 6 years since the last title. Next year would be perfect if they pulled that game out of nowhere at E3. We’ll probably finally get Pikmin 3 and maybe some info on that new Ip Miyamoto is supposed to be working on.
I am pretty much starved for some new LOZ info…is it wrong of me to just want this year to end just so I can get some new LOZ info?
Unless the All-Stars collections includes the GBA extras and proper widescreen, I’m not buying it. And honestly, neither should you.
“You” in the above sentence applies to everyone. Everyone. Everyone.
Fuck Nintendo.

Speaking of talking about Other: M, Kotaku had an interview with Reggiewhere it seems Nintendo is seems to be confused as to why this game didn’t sell well. It’s sold close to 500,000 (yyyup…Wii Music…) making it a Nintendo flop.
Everyone needs to play Kirby’s Epic Yarn. Seriously. The game is too cute for words. A little on the lax side when it comes to difficulty. But still, it’s such an awesome game and you will constantly go “awwwww”. I don’t give a fuck who you are. You’ll do it.
I want to be Prince Fluff.
I got my Wii today been playing No More Heroes, I’m having loads of fun on it and atm I kinda like the side missions and jobs. My girlfriend seems to have stolen it though so she can play House of the Dead Overkill >.<
Angry Birds is apparently coming to WiiWare and XBLA…never played the game but I’ve heard it’s addicting.

‘ohshit ohshit ohshit’ @ barrel/lava section. And that music sorta sound Metroid Primeish…
IGN’s been losing a lot of people on the nintendo side randomly…Craig’s leaving O.o? The hell is going on over there?
Dang, I got waaaaaay too much catching up to do with Wii games. I still need to get both No More Heroes, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Kirby’s Epic Yarn and now DK Returns is coming out! I guess this is what happens when you jump in the Wii game 3 years later, but it couldn’t be helped! I was poor!
Angry Birds was just reviewed over on Classic Game Room. Looks like a fun game. I’m interested to see how they convert the touch controls to the Wii.
A warning about No More Heroes, it kicks ass, it’s amazing, but the side quests and building things up at times are bullshit and it does become a pain. You just need to be prepared for those slow downs. It stands out because the actual combat missions, and in particular the bosses, are pretty damn amazing and really stand out.
You think? I actually liked doing the sidejobs, once you unlock the litter picking and gas station attendant jobs it’s easy money and it’s not like it takes a long time to earn enough cash, especially when you unlock one of the later missions.
How are the controls on twiilight princess? My girl just got it for me towards christmas and I’m gonna start after I’ve finished the rest of the Borderlands DLC.

Ghost Recon Wiialso came out yesterday…I had completely forgotten about it. Don’t know if it’s any good or not.
Thoroughly enjoying Metroid Other M. It feels more like Zero Mission than any other title.
Controls and gameplay took a little getting used to, but after about 15 minutes of battle I’m intuitively dodging and attacking, and switching between first and third person almost seemlesly. As far as I can tell, the only hindrance to it being perfectly seemless is user error. Anyway, the animation, camera work and sound effects feel very rewarding/satisfying. Speedruns of this game are going to be very fun to watch. Hopefully story can be skipped the second time around.
I miss Yamamoto a lot. Retro is lucky to have him on DKCR. The ambience and drones on Other M definitely support the atmosphere though, and I’d much rather have that or even absolute silence than bad/cheesy music. Music is a very strong game maker or breaker for me. Good think I’m very fond of ambience and drones I guess.
As for the voice work, whoever chose the girl who played Samus did a damn good job. She’s excellent. Very sexual, but not blatantly or overtly so. She makes Samus’ complexities apparent. I’ll spare everyone what I perceive those complexities to be. As for the other characters, so far they’re nowhere near as good as Samus. They’re not bad, but they just don’t emote like Samus. I feel like they’re reading while Samus is acting.
Sorry if I sound like a fanboy. Hope this inspires people to try it out.
Pretty solid, no scratch that… REALLY solid… play that shit whenever you get the chance man… all-in-all though its addictive as fuck… 40-50 hours of gameplay easily…
Those dungeon puzzles in any Zelda game are pains in the ass to figure out though…
Music is great, gameplay is great, graphics are too…
I always hated the rechargeable aspect of the controllers, I like plugging my shit in and being done with it… so sooner or later I’m going for the gamecube version on ebay/amazon…
How is that version?
EDIT: Metroid speedruns are fun… still can’t beat zero mission in less than 3 hours…
Although I have done a 15% playthrough… shit was painful…
It’s hilarious how Nintendo’s still trying to figure out why Other M did so poorly, and why people hate it.
Here’s a hint: It starts and ends with the letter S, may have “amu” in the middle, and has EVERYTHING to do with how you portrayed said person as a total teenage “Terra in FFVI-esque” wuss job.
Although I fear they’re gonna go too far down the other end of the spectrum now and make her a stereotypical “Badass! Femme! Fatale!!!” which would be equally as retarded. I always saw Samus as more of an “Aya Brea in original Parasite Eve” type of person, myself.
Seriously though I didn’t find Samus at all to be any kind of wuss throughout Other: M. I always assumed she was always lost in her thoughts considering most of the time she’s not talking to anybody or too busy shoving plasma beam down the Space Pirates’ throat. And in all honesty I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the people who complained were a good chunk of the people who complained about Nintendo not having voice work in their games. YOU GOT WHAT YOU FUCKIN ASKED FOR…lol.
It’s close to the same thing now as reading a book and then a movie being made out of said book and if the voices don’t match up to how you imagine characters sounding then people are going to hate it so basically half of the Metroid fanbase believed Samus to be a ‘take no prisoners…PERIOD’ type of character and when they find out that she isn’t they immediately throw her under the bus. I already said before Samus was still pretty much a badass through most her actions during that game…I don’t see how anyone who puts enemies in a head lock and delivers a full charge blast of plasma into their skull is a wuss but hey that’s just my opinion.
I’ve said this before, and I will say it again. HotD: Overkill is the best game ever. Shit is boss.
“The incident” later in the game is the big thing that most people bitch about from my understanding, coupled with the whole daddy issues storyline and making it her primary reason to become a bounty hunter.
And yeah, I’m sure some of the people who hated the game were people who think Nintendo characters should remain voiceless, soulless characters so they can insert their own personality in.
I’m willing to bet 90% of those people that dislike Samus in Other M are those dudes Sonichuman was talking about, the people who read books and don’t like what they get in the movie incarnation. The difference being that in a movie, you’re dealing with a “good enough” because with very few exceptions (for example, Mary Winstead was pegged to play Ramona in Scott Pilgrim for many years), you will NOT get someone exactly to what a writer envisioned. So on movies where they have to settle for something, I can kinda get being a little miffed about the choice for a role. With a game, that limitation does not exist because the character can literally act exactly how the writer wanted them to, move they way they want them to, and talk how they want them to because in a game the voice doesn’t have to come with the actor/actress’ face. So in the case of a game character like Samus, that is in fact exactly as the writers intended the character to be. But, a lot of people still treat it like a movie where they’re dealing with a “good enough” and in their ideal world if the studio hadn’t supposedly “ruined” the character, they would be exactly what they (the fans) thought they would be, instead of just accepting this as the character and disliking the character or that aspect of them from that point on because well…that’s who they are (the much more logical conclusion to being dissatisfied). There is one exception to this, and that’s when outside factors like production time, fan outcry (surprise surprise), or another writer/studio taking over your work is responsible for the change. Then a game character might be portrayed incorrectly or “ruined”, as it were…but even this isn’t the case for Samus because the writer of the story hasn’t changed for years even after Team NINJA and Retro switched off making the games.
tl;dr version:
Those people are still retards.
Not that one. The part in question Alpha refers to is…
Other M
When she goes into post traumatic shock seeing Ridley. I can kinda understand this part being dumb because this game isn’t a prequel (well, it’s not the first title in the timeline anyway). if it was her first encounter with him after he killed her family then sure, but at this point she shouldn’t really be that affected if she’s taken him on before.
The whole ‘no authorization of the varia in lava section’? yeah…I completely understand hating on that part. If Adam had actually authorized it when she took 5 steps into that area then it would have been fine and dandy. Most of the other times when Samus needed something he was pretty much on point with it. That part sticks out like a sore thumb though because of that.
The whole her being a brat thing to Adam I understood because she basically didn’t have any family and he was the closest thing to it. Her reasoning for leaving Adam’s command and going out on her own is admittedly slightly shaky but if she had tried to play hero she most certainly would have ended up dead. I’m guessing she felt guilty of questioning his orders especially since he was thinking about everyone and not being selfish…even if it was his own kin.
Edit:
oh yeah…
