Wii Thread 4.0, WEEUWEEUWEEUWEE!

I may not have played the new Kirby game, but it is a worthy contender for Game of the Year 2010.

Kirby won’t be considered for GOTY there’s already enough nominees (SMG2, Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2, and there was at least 1-2 other games that escape me at the moment).

So what the more the merrier =3

If it actually get nominated then that’s cool but I can’t see it having a chance of taking any of them home. I’m just being real here lol.

no gameplay but still looking good

I’m about half way through Kirby’s Epic Yarn and it’s exactly how I expected…a pure platformer. I don’t expect anything less from a Kirby game and it has some pretty interesting mechanics. It’s definitely different from anything I’ve played lately.

And about the GOTY comment…I honestly don’t think a Wii game other Zelda would have a shot at winning.

If there is any game on the Wii that has a possibility of winning GOTY so far it’s SMG2…hands down.

If Epic Mickey lives up to the hype then that’ll be great but I’m not expecting it from that game or DKCR. I’m expecting them both to be great experiences regardless at least.

Look, I’m not even trolling.

The SMG games are amongst some of the most overrated games in recent years.

I was literally BORED most of the time I was playing through SMG, and the climax was so unchallenging I felt completely underwhelmed by the time I’d finished the game. It was just too easy. The whole game.

It wasn’t innovative, as I keep hearing, either. The same game was available eleven years ago, and in MUCH higher quality, in Super Mario 64. Just because you run around on planetoids doesn’t mean the gameplay is different. In fact, I’d say the whole planetoid thing harmed the game. The sense of exploration was neutered because levels became more linear, and each individual area was cut off into sections you could get familiar with within seconds.

Sure, it was more cinematic and photogenic than past games, but the Mario Galaxy games don’t even approach the height of the franchise.

Mario Galaxy 2 amended a few of the problems (still very easy, save for a few stars) I had with Galaxy 1, but by then I’d grown bored of the formula. It was just too similar and I lost interest quite quickly.

Perfect scores are handed out waaaay too liberally these days.

Now Okami is a game worth perfect scores.

SMG2 = GOTY easy, soo damn good.

I’ll be picking up the new Metroid and Kirby also this year.

:clown:

I understand both of you…truly I do, but guess what? We aren’t the ones handing out the GOTY awards. Even though a select few number of people didn’t find Galaxy 2 to be all the great the fact of the matter is that there’s a large majority out there that do. The same thing can be said for Red Dead Remption and Mass Effect 2. I’m not even putting my own personal opinion in this. I’m just looking at what is in front of me.

Wii Remote Plus hits Europe on 5 November

Wii Remote Plus hits Europe on 5 November – Engadget

…wtf, US release date?

This is why I have not bought any “motion plus” games, I refuse to buy that dongle when I know they were gonna eventually bundle it.

There aren’t many games out yet that REQUIRE motion plus. I’m waiting on Skyward Sword. I was disappointed with Twilight Princess (Okami just dominated it in every conceivable way), so I’m investing all my hope for the next great 3D Zelda in this one. I have to say, though, footage so far has been… unsettling. I don’t want fighting basic goblins to be a chore because they randomly block in different directions.

I don’t understand how it’s a chore unless you’re that guy in the video I posted who was just WAGGLAN AWAY and hoping to hit the enemy. Clean and precise strikes are all that are needed. It’s basically the same principle that’s been established by the sword fighting in Wii Sports Resort.

Fling Smash is supposed to use the Wii motion plus…not sure for what though.

I know I’m a day late on some of that stuff but I was doing some late night gaming…BELIEVE IT! gets shot

Kirby Can’t Stop Pokemon in Japan - Wii News at IGN

Kirby used new release status on Pokemon…it’s not very effective. KH: Recoded managed to stay in the top 10 and the PS3 versions of RDR and DR2 are sitting well in the top 10 as well.

Hardware went PSP, PS3, DSi LL, DSi, Wii, Lite, 360, PS2, and Go. Go only has a little bit over 100 to go and it can actually beat out PS2 lol.

Wii Remote Plus Finally Announced
Wii Remote Plus Finally Announced for US - Wii News at IGN

This actually has some important information for those interested in FlingSmash. The ONLY way you’re going to be able to buy this game new…is with Wii RemotePlus in the box for 49.99. I don’t know what exactly Nintendo’s thinking on this for not giving a choice considering this isn’t the same deal with a game like Wii Sports Resort. All I can say is maybe trade in a wii mote and wii motion plus to lower the price on the game I guess? I don’t know how much GS will give for that stuff once this accessory drops though.

Secondly…There’s going to be a NSMB Wii bundle that will come with the game, a red Wii Remote Plus, and Wii Sports to celebrate Mario’s 25th. Wii Sports Resort will NOT be in this bundle. It’ll be $199.99.

Wii Remote Plus will be 39.99. Woot! I’m seriously considering trading in my wii motes and wii motionplus’…don’t know if I’ll do it or not.

unrelated to Wii…there will also be a DSi XL Mario Kart bundle that’ll sell at $169.99. So basically for $10 more they throw in the best selling DS game on the system…not bad.

Alright so all this stuff is cool and all Nintendo but uh…We’re missing out on something that a good majority of us want that you’re giving to everyone else…care to guess what that is?

Disney’s Epic Mickey Gameplay Trailer

Played the Jap copy of SM Collection. Just as I remember

While Kirby’s Epic Yarn is a tad too easy for my tastes (exception: some of the secret levels), I really like how it’s done away with the pointless lives system that accomplishes nothing.

Despite the light difficulty, the game’s a gem. It’s charming, fun, relaxing, and has great music (it isn’t all quiet flowery tunes like in the first few levels). And the level design is ingenious.

Also, unlike Shitty Mario Bros. Wii’s coop, Epic Yarn’s is thoughtfully designed and flat out fun. One tiny grip: I wish you couldn’t grab your buddy with the yarn whip. Otherwise, delightful fun.

I’m hoping Donkey Kong Country Returns is as impressive.

Dr. B’s yarn whip lets him grab the edge of the universe. Pray he never uses it.

Bit.Trip Fate rocks.
Download it now.

Having been a Wii owner for nearly 7 months, now, I take it Wii Motion Plus fixes many of the issues with the Wiimote sensor bar? Sometimes if I’m not sitting right, getting motion detection from that thing can be a serious pain.

…LOL IGN? They straight ripped that off from Tales of the Abyss.

But The Last Story is sounding really, REALLY good.
