7.5 They pretty much said some of the same things IGN said then pointed out that the AI’s ankles are forever made of glass apparently. They also made a small complaint about games vs. other people end up turning into a block and shove contest. Weren’t spins introduced into the series as a counter to the shove?
I don’t know if this is even in the game but does anyone know how to turn off computer assistance like you could in the first NBA JAM? Also is there anyway in which you can switch players in game or are u stuck with who you pick?
I ment during the actual game. In the old school version you could push a button and you would change players to your other teammate. Old school SNES version had it to whoever had the ball you would become that player. It seems Wii version makes you play with computer assistance. It’s not bad I just prefer to be controlling everything.
Yes…I’d very much like you to explain a bit more into this myself. Especially if you compare it to Call of Duty and then shit on it lol. Did you play it with Wiimote + nunchuck? Did you play any of the single player? Frame rate issues? Like what else was it that you didn’t dig about the game other than the fact that it ‘plays like call of duty’?
Pokemon still blowing it up even with both Dead Risings, Yakuza PSP, Okamiden, and DBZ Tenkaichi Tag showing up on the list. It’s almost 4 MILLLLLLLLLLLIOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNN crushes scouter
PSP managed to put itself back on top despite the pokemon rapage…well sorta anyway (add up the DS together and yadda yadda…). Hardware went PSP, DSi, DSi XL, PS3, Wii, Lite, 360, PS2, Go. Wii has been chillin in the middle of the pack for awhile now.
they finally got some hands-on with the wiimote-nunchuk and it was pretty positive which I was worried about since Activision was taking forever to let anybody actually play it this way. I read this before seeing the impressions from before and it made me lean slightly over to buying Goldeneye over black ops for now. Never knew about that ‘lean/head tilt’ mechanic with the nunchuk.
Singleplayer probably looks a bit better in graphics than the splitscreen multiplayer but in all honesty the thing that’s at the top of my list that I want them to get correct are the controls and the framerate. I’m not looking for this game to completely wow out my eyes so the graphics as they are currently are fine imo. I’m still waiting for more impressions though before I make my final choice.
I am quite excited about GE007, more so than I was for Reach before its release and after buying. The one area I fear it won’t match the original is the soundtrack.
In Shonen Jump this week I learned about Naruto Shippuden Dragon Blade Chronicles exclusive for the Wii. An original story not based on the manga. Naruto gets some armor and a sword to fight a dragon. WHAT’S UP WITH THAT? :looney:
Eh if reviewers don’t trash it I’m tempted to check it out since it sounds crazy enough. Picking up Epic Mickey on day 1 most def.
alright Nintendo…that’s awesome. They 1 uped what I wanted them to do by making the Wii Remote Plus the same price as the standard Wii Mote over in japan. All the consoles are going to be bundled with it from then on and Wii sports resort will be bundled with one with a bit of an extra charge of money. If they do all this over here I’ll probably trade in my current wii motes and wii motion pluses for them. I suspect again that they’re doing all of this to get ready for LOZ.
funny…but like one of the commenters said where’s the gameplay?
I also got a chance to get some of my own hands-on time with NBA Jam since I happened to pop in to my ex-manager’s store and he had it in the Wii and he was playing it with a customer. They had to use a Wii mote and nunchuck because of the demo kiosk and I watched them play a game. I immediately started wondering why it seemed like they were flailing around everytime to make a shot and I’m still not even after I played it. It took awhile for me a hot second to get used to the controls and even still I’d had a few brain farts when it came to shots but this game is FUCKIN FUN. Playing with the nunchuk+wiimote combo was actually way more satisfying then I thought it would be especially after I got used to the fact that you had to gesture up and then ‘shoot out’ for shots and dunks. I was actually really getting into it and I had to catch myself a little bit cause I’d forget I’m in the store with people around but I couldn’t help it…especially when I shattered the glass. I started to feel it in my arm though lol. I almost wish I hadn’t played it cause it’s going to make the wait that much more difficult for me.
Dang, that new NBA Jam is looking like the hotness! I rented the SNES version years ago and I loved that game. It was the first B-ball game I played since Double Dribble in the late 80s.
Both games are included. The USA version of SMB2 is Doki Doki Mario and the JPN SMB2 is Lost Levels. I’m still trying to muster up the insanity to get Lost Levels on the Virtual Console.
So true. These ads are kind of frustrating. Here we have a game that features motion plus AND online multiplayer, but the trailers never work to sell gamers on the gameplay. I mean, these are targetted at gamers, aren’t they? They make these trailers accessible via a medium that only experienced/passionate gamers go to for game news/updates, right? So what does Ubi expect? For players like you and I to go to a youtube or gametrailers or ign and see these gameplay-free ads and be sold? Bah!
Sengoku Basara is out guys…of course since it’s a dynasty warriors type game reviewers will rag on it. I have my copy reserved but I won’t be able to pick it up till later this week.
