The Wii Speak? It quite sensitive actually since this thing is supposed to be able to pick up sounds from within the entire room. I used it when I played with 2 different people in Animal Crossing and The Conduit and sometimes it was muffled but i’m not sure if that was my speakers or not…otherwise it was pretty clear. If there’s other people in the room with you or other people in the other person’s room then you can hear them just as well as you can hear the person you’re playing with. I’m sure there’s gonna be moments in monster hunter when you’re with a group and some kid’s mom comes busting into the room and starts to give his kid a mouthful or something…you’ll probably be able to hear the whole conversation. When you get it the Wii Speak you should get a voucher to download the wii speak channel which can allow you to send voice messages to people as well as set how sentive you want the mic to be. Overall it’s pretty good…now I don’t know how well it’s going to work when you have monster’s roaring and swords slashing into flesh and what not though so we’ll see how this goes. You may want to make sure your speakers aren’t really pointed to the wii speak while you play. When I get my copy of MH3 I’ll make sure to tell you if it works well with the game or not if you don’t already have it.
NPD Numbers March 2010:
Hardware sales went DS (700.8K), Wii (557.5K), 360 (338.4K), PS3 (313.9K), PSP (119.9K) and PS2 (118.3K). Crazy that Nintendo has a supply constraint and is still doing that well. Sony’s doing a pretty good job keeping up with Microsoft too.
Kratos’ rage was actually greater than any 1 pokemon game. I’m actually surprised a bit that he managed to do that but I knew it was going to be close. Of course both Pokemon titles put together do beat out GOW 3’s though. PS3 also got 4 titles in the top 10 for the first time this month including Final Fantasy XII which beat out it’s 360 counterpart. Software went GOW 3 (1.1M), Pokemon Soul Silver (1.02M), Final Fantasy XIII (PS3 - 828.2K), Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Xbox 360 - 825.5K), Pokemon Heartgold (761.2K), Final Fantasy XIII (Xbox 360 - 493.9K), NSMB Wii (457.4K), Battlefield: Bad Company 2 ( PlayStation 3 - 451.2K), Wii Fit Plus w/ Balance Board (429.6K), MLB 10: The Show (PlayStation 3 - 349.2K)

I hope they don’t keep that ‘6 degrees of freedom’ thing and actually make use of the pointer controls for the Wiimote.

just the title and some concept art. Since this is being made for a platform that ‘does not yet exist in this world’ I’d say this game has a pretty good chance of ending up on the 3ds…unless Level 5 knows something about a PSP2 or the next Nintendo console?

Red Steel 2 is awesome, I finally got around to getting it. It’s not perfect with the sword fighting; most notably the fact the heavy swinging can mess up your camera due to the pointer being used for head movement. But it’s the closest a game has ever gotten and it still feels so damn satisfying. Gun controls on the other hand are spot on. They’re so good I’d dare say I’d rather use that than keyboard/mouse. And that’s a huge admission for me. I also like the motion control QTEs a lot, reminds me of RE4 but with less memorizing and more jerk reaction. Graphics are frickin’ amazing for a Wii title, I’ve more than once looked at this game and been reminded of Borderlands, HD and all. It looks really, really good.
Of course, this game will be all but forgotten if I don’t beat it before Monster Hunter Tri comes out so I need to hurry. 
^ Yeeeeeesss… I still wanna run through the game on the harder difficulty. But I can’t play my Wii right now cause I don’t have the remote for my TV to change the station to component or AV. I need to hurry up and get it before MH Tri comes out.

Wow…HVS is putting some good work into this one. Co-op now with 4 players online and off? for the Wii? that’s crazy talk. This game will also have 4 player local oldschool death-match…something that has been fading out to near obscurity and a lot of customers that I talk to at work have been upset that EVERYTHING is online now without much of a choice so it’s nice they have that option there. Even with the game looking similiar the game looks like it’s at least getting a slight upgrade from the 14 new screens here. More boss battles and more enemy variety complaints have been addressed. Hopefully they’ll give us an update on how the game is going around E3.

I think I’m going to get Conduit 2 when it comes out, since I’ve been ignoring my consoles for a while since I play all of my FPS games on PC. I ended up not getting the first game though.
im sure i can convince myself it wont be that bad. at least i wouldnt feel like i was wasting money if i didnt play it for a week or so. if it had a subscription id feel like every day i dont play it its wasted money. may look into it at some point some time into the future…

Man, the Wii’s Virtual Console gives me such a boner. Since I was never able to get a TurboGrafx/PC Engine all the shooters on that system make me droll. I got Blazing Lazers last week and feel in love with it. And now I have the points to buy Gate of Thunder and Lord of Thunder. I’m deciding between those and Castlevania Adventure Rebirth.
Have you heard of Ironclad? That recently got released for Neo Geo VC and it’s a shooter. Don’t know how good it is though.

I’ve had Cave Story since launch day on WiiWare, and have been progressing extremely slowly. The game is awesome though. It reminds me of Treasure. Question for anyone who knows. Do you level up in terms of HP in this game? I am at the Sand area now (just beat Omega) and I still only have 3 hearts. Deaths have been coming quite frequently, lol.
I’ll be getting Monster Hunter 3 tomorrow also. I’m a complete MH newb and would love to team up with others who aren’t familiar with the series. I guess I’ll go by the name jwillenn in MH3 also. If anyone’s interested, let me know. I won’t be using Wii Speak so if that’s a problem, then I apologize. I REALLY don’t get why we can’t just buy a Bluetooth headset for this system. I know the question has been asked a million times going back to around when Wii launched, but was there ever an answer other than “it’s Nintendo”?
uh…what? If they’re talking about picking it up last night then your store may have gotten enough reserves to do a midnight opening. If they’re talking about today then I’m gonna go on a wild limb and say that the shipment got messed up somewhere? The game is street dated though. GS should have been had their copies by now. We got ours later last week around Wednesday/Thurs.
This should be good fun. Better get as much playtime in as possible before Super hits. God man my life is so fucked for the next couple of months at least lol.
