I bought new smb wii, and am not sure what to think of it. For one, the resolution of the wii is making me want to barf… I don’t remember super mario world looking this horrible… i’m playing this on a 46" lcd widescreen 480i. Does the 480p make a considerable difference?

The controls feel a bit awkward. The sound from the controller is annoying. The level of detail seems a bit minimal.

I’m hoping that Muramasa is a better game than this. I’m tempted to giving my roomie back his wii…

No, it won’t, but it should help with the motion blurring, since the interlacing can cause ghosting and other unsavory artifacts.

I like NSMB, only played a little so far though. Its more fun with more than one player…

Turn your sharpness all the way down on your HDTV. It helps. Doesn’t cause miracles, though.

8.8 I’m a bit surprised…they basically complained about the same things Bozon did but were actually more lenient on it in comparison to Bozon.

I decided to buy a Wii component cable after buying this game. Definitely looks a shit ton better. I got it for like $5 shipped on ebay. It was a knock-off, but it works the same as the Nintendo one.

Also, I thought the controls were perfect. The little “shake” thing was somewhat awkward at first, but I got used to it real quick. It still maintained the old school feel while introducing something new. I liked the power-up sound bits coming through the controller, too. Shit is awesome, haha.

They’re no different then most high profile review sites IMO…I wouldn’t put kotaku anywhere near them though. GT had actually been harsher on some games than IGN has been but often times the words spoken/typed coincide with each other with often slightly different views. They aren’t the only ones who gave this game a high mark either

1up gave the game a 91 and they don’t even mention anything about the game having frame rate problems. Another reason to listen to more than one site so that when you do play the game nothing comes up as a sudden surprise. From the sounds of things though things are a mixed bag on this game so if you’re one of the people who happened to buy it…give your thoughts.

I picked up component cables and it def looks hell of a lot better. Good game but it’s haard. I would imagine that it’s more fun playing it with friends. Playing by myself isn’t all that great.

I was contemplating selling my Wii. Then I read that hands on review for Silent Hill. I ain’t selling shit!

Question. I just got the component cables for the Wii recently and was testing it out on some games. For some reason, in RE4 Wii, the telecom cutscenes look like completely garbled ass, and every thing else is fine. My other Wii games even look better. What gives?

I have no idea what that could be…might have to do something with them having ported the game mostly from the GC version and maybe just not adjusting those scenes at all.

News has been pretty slow…though I did notice something in our books…Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M both got their release dates pushed back to June. I doubt that (or more so want to doubt) that there’s any truth to the dates…especially SMG2 since Miyamoto already said the damn game was done and the only reason they pushed it back to next year was because of NSMB. I was at least expecting Galaxy in Feb…that is unless Miyamoto is being himself and ‘up ending the tea table’ again.

So I bought the **New Super Mario Bros. Wii **and yeah…game is absolutely sick. Coming off of playing Borderlands non stop for a few weeks it was a nice change of pace.

Definitely lived up to the hype, 2 players is a blast. I can just imagine the chaos with 4 people though.

Bought Modern Warfare Reflex for my bro, not expecting much as I had recently played MW1&2 on the 360 and was very surprised…game is amazing, controls are spot on.

Very nice “mature” shooter to add to the Wii’s library.

Component vs. standard cables is like night/day on my set, huge difference.

5.9 Complaints included…uh…sounds like everything under the sun. Can’t really be surprised since it’s a movie based game. Apparently the game did have some good points about it but it’s lacking horrible polish…the same ‘Holy shit we gotta get this outta the door at the same time as the movie!’ lack of polish. I would think Goldeneye would at least show that you can infact make a great game if you actually didn’t rush but oh well…fast buck it is. Wii Motion Plus was only used for one thing and it ain’t really that great.

Short Story: Cameron was definitely blowing smoke up everyone’s asses for 45 minutes at that conference.

Isn’t Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection supposed to be coming out soon?

I still playthe** Williams Collection** when I want something quick and simple. The sound on these old pinball tables is a trip and the gameplay is pretty addictive.

…can’t stop playing NSMB Wii and still hyped for TVC godliness!
