Wii Thread 4.0, WEEUWEEUWEEUWEE!

lol I dug the game myself and some others liked it as well. Granted one of the complaints on it is about it being simplistic so it can get repetitive. After spending good time with it though I wouldn’t call it a ‘lame-ass button masher’…especially when you have to beat the challenges that give you a suggested level to be at to be at you’ll realize that you can have your ass handed to you quickly if you’re not careful.

It definitely feels like mashing at first…how far into the game are you?

Yeah. It was really fun for about an hour, and then it got stale.

Hudson is bringing the game over here. Could be pretty chilling but definitely wanna wait until there’s more play time and some gameplay vids.

Pokemon got dethroned by Bayonetta (PS3) but it’s still in the top 10. There’s 2 games on the PS3 in the top 5 and 2 Wii games in the lower 5 (Wii Fit Plus and Super Robot Taisen Neo).

Stuff got shuffled a bit on the hardware front. Dsi is still at the top but numbers of Psp and Go combined did beat it out. Sony is just wedging in between the Wii and Dsi. Goes as follows: Dsi, PS3, PSP, PSP Go, Wii, Lite, 360, then PS2.

The real problem with the Wii version of Okami is that it lacks the subtle fuzz and blur that gives the sensation of a dream.

To me, that’s much worse than the control differences.

Still, I love the game so much I have to support by buying a copy.

ok, i’m copping a wii for christmas. wow @ mario rpg being downloadable…instant cop. yes i’ve beaten that game to death…many times. it never gets old. thx for all of your answers (and i don’t know why i didn’t check the first post in this thread; sorry).

VC/WW Monday 11/9
Virtual Console
SMS - Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap
C64 - Cybernoid

WiiWare
Excitebike: World Rally - 1000 pts
Frogger Returns - 500 pts
Dragon Master Spell Caster - 500 pts

I never played or even heard of Okami prior to the Wii release, so the lack of that subtle fuzz/blur never really bothered me. While the PS2 version looks like the dream, the Wii version looks like a painting.

The Wii controls take a little getting used to, but using the brush with the Remote is pretty fun.

I’m also a huge fan of Okami. If you liked the last few Legend of Zeldas, this is a must buy.

Yeah, I’m a fan of Okami too. And while I haven’t tried it yet, I know I’ll like the Wiimote better than the Dual Shock 2.

Though the lack of atmospherics bothers me, it’s not enough to prevent me from purchasing a copy.

I have a feeling any replay I do will be on PS2 though. I wonder which is better for speedruns.

Hey, house of the dead : overkill is 13$ on newegg.com i got myself a copy. havent played it yet but i love the HotD games.

Game is godly. I’ve always supported Overkill.

Yes, it is backwards compatible.

Top ten out now my list…

  • Smash Bros. Brawl
  • No More Heroes
  • Muramasa: The Demon Blade
  • Rune Factory Frontier
  • Punch Out
  • MadWorld
  • Super Mario Galaxy
  • Dead Space Extraction (at least worth a play through, if only for excellent cinematics)
  • World of Goo
  • Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (Only traditional SRPG in town I think.)

Honorable mention to Deadly Creatures, The Conduit, Resident Evil 4, House of Dead: Overkill, Lost Winds 1&2 and Super Paper Mario.

Orochimaru and Kabuto. Orochimaru can use the Rashomon Gate counter jutsu without using chakra in latent ninja mode.

IGN also put up their take on 5 of the coolest levels from NSMB Wii with some video save for the one in the 6th world.

Also of note I found out that NSMB Wii is going to get put in the Wii console at work on Sat. at 4pm to give people a chance to sample it going into Sunday so if you happen to be out some time after 4 on Sat and want to check the game out then check a nearby GS around that time. I’m not going to be able to buy the game day 1 since appaently I’m getting it for free…but i’m gonna have to wait. :frowning:

Mario, Luigi, Toad, and, uh… Toad 2?!

Seriously, what the fuck? There are much better characters to choose from.

I honestly think Nintendo is just lazy and didn’t want to create another brand new character.
