So it definitely sounds like they’re trying to reach out more to 3rd parties with the new console this go round. I thought they actually were doing a good job trying with Wii its just that most of the 3rd parties were just putting out shitty shovelware games. Then there’s the factor that Nintendo fanboys tend to hurt the 3rd parties by only buying Nintendo’s stuff and not branching out. But of course in order to for them to be willing to branch out you have them not getting burned on shovelware. The next 2 E3’s should definitely be interesting for Nintendo.
soo the rumor was correct. They are also releasing something akin to a ‘greatest hits’ line called ‘Nintendo Selects’ that will be at retail for $19.99. LoZ:TP, Mario Super Sluggers, Wii Sports, and Animal Crossing: City Folk are the first in the list. This new bundle is taking out Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort and instead including Mario Kart Wii with a matching color wheel to the Wii.
And Nintendo games can get away with the price stuff basically because of what they are. I.E. In my experience most people who buy games like Halo and Gears will buy the game day 1 and once they’re done with it a good chunk of them will trade it in within the next few days. With games like that have Mario in the title and Pokemon it’s a whole different ball game with that. More people hold on to those…ESPECIALLY Pokemon.
Nintendo doesn’t have any control on the used market either but their games do hold their value better than most on average.
this. picked up twilight princess just to replay it about a week ago, and i’m still working on it with collecting everything and seeing everything. you really get your money’s worth with nintendo games, compared to something like say CoD
Yes I know all about the Nintendo used prices and how they function but thanks. I figured with the Wii it would change but no. I suspect the Brawl price change will be correct, they did the same with Melee during the cube run and it remained a consistent top seller.
No they haven’t said anything on what they have planned for Wii for the second half but they have said they’re still bringing out games for it. They’re probably doing what I didn’t want them to do and just going to release a bunch of shit that they’ve been sitting on for the later half of the year and probably leading up to the release of ‘Cafe’. I’ve been waiting on Skyward Sword for forever and a day and I love the series to death but I would like to think that Nintendo knows that Link can’t hold up the house by himself during the holiday season not with Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Gears 3, Elder Scrolls V coming out. LoZ is gonna need some assists for that.
Even if the Wii is dying I am still trucking, I just picked up the Monster Hunter Tri controller bundle if anyone here wants to help me learn how to play it next week. Relatively new to the series but I like killing large things with a gang of people.
Plus it should all be backwards compatible with Cafe, so win/win for me personally.
