Prope is making another game…this time for the 3DS and the Wii. It’s called Tenkuu No Kishi Rodea. It’s being published by Kodokawa currently. So far it sounds interesting.

Sonic Creator Goes Multiplatform on Wii and 3DS

A few months back, Famitsu revealed that Prope, the studio from Sonic the Hedgehog’s Yuji Naka, was working with Kadokawa Games on a new title. That title at long last got its reveal in this week’s Famitsu.

Tenkuu no Kishi Rodea is a “sky fantasy” game for Wii and 3DS. That’s right, our first Wii and 3DS multiplatform release!

Famitsu says that the game is being brought to us by Naka and writer Takumi Miyajima. Miyajima has previously worked on the Tales series and Arc Rise Fantasia.

Rodea is the name of the game’s main character. Also introduced in the magazine are characters named Ion and Princess Cecilia.

Gameplay details are a bit scarce at present. The game is described as a “new feel action game.” The Wii version will use the Wiimote exclusively. Screenshots in Famitsu show sky-based gameplay, but Famitsu says there will be a variety of stages outside of just the sky.

In an interview with the magazine, Naka describes the game as “a completely new action game with simple controls.” Development on the game started in Fall 2009. At that time, the game Naka and his team were working on was cancelled, and he split his team into two to create their next game.

Famitsu seems to have a big look at Tenkuu no Kishi Rodea this week, so expect further details shortly.

More Detail’s on Prope’s Sky Fantasy Game

A few additional details have surfaced on Tenkuu no Kishi Rodea, the new Wii and 3DS title from Let’s Tap and Let’s Catch developer Prope.

This game is getting instant attention because of the involvement of Sonic and Nights creator Yuji Naka. He’s listed as “executive director.”

The magazine has details on the Wii version’s control scheme. You use the Wiimote as a pointer. To move somewhere, you point at the location, press B and shake the Wiimote. Your character will fly off in the direction specified. You can continually do this motion to make your character freely fly through the sky.

The A button is for performing actions. You can use it to fire a gun as an attack. You can also do a spinning attack by pointing at objects and enemies and pressing A.

In an interview with the magazine, Naka says that games that allow players to experience free flight through the skies tend to have complicated controls. However, they cleared this problem during Rodea’s prototype development phase.

Even though you see the Naka name, Rodea isn’t a Sega title, Kadokawa Games is the game’s publisher. Naka says that this is a true collaboration with Kadokawa. It’s something that Prope would not have been able to do on its own.

I also wanted to add something before I went to bed. I recently bought Monopoly Streets for my girl about a month ago and have played it a couple of times. It’s pretty much Monopoly in video game form with ‘meh’ graphics which basically do the job. If you want to play Monopoly in video game form you could probably do a lot worse and I’d probably reccommend buying it for that purpose…save for one big warning. DO NOT…I FUCKING REPEAT…DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME WITHOUT 4 HUMAN PLAYERS!!! This game’s AI is out to get your ass in any way possible and it cheats up a storm. The first time we played this game with 2 computer players was when we realized that the Comp was out to screw the human players and damn anything else. They were in cahoots with each other in trades. This game I just played tonight with Warna Brother and my girl had even more proof that it was cheating it’s ass off. This was almost controller breaking worthy type bullshit.

Another Kirby game…on home consoles? This quickly? I’m guessing it’s the Kirby game that’s been in development for the longest time. 4 games have been let out of the bag: Kirby, Another Pokemon title, Rhythm Heaven Wii, and an original IP called Pandora’s Tower. I was wondering if this was Miyamoto’s original IP buuuut judging fromthe sitethis doesn’t exactly look like his style but that be a pleasant surprise if it was. To say the least though…I am interested. As for Kirby and Rhythm Heaven…They have videos up on the invester web page. If you’re a Kirby fan then yeah this looks like the game people have really been waiting for.

Skyward Sword is also going to be getting released AFTER OoT 3DS which isn’t going to be seeing release until after E3. Though apparently it’s in the ‘final stages’. uhhh huh…

Up until now, my Wii collection has been pretty lacking. I only have a few games, and some of them are ports of games from other systems. I thought it was high time I put this shit to better use, so I just now spent $234 on 8 Wii games (and 1 for 360).

There’s a list of games on the front page. If you like shmups you might dig Sin & Punishment 2. For more Metroid fixes I’d suggest tracking down a copy of Prime Trilogy if you haven’t played those games yet. Platformers you might dig would be A Boy and His Blob, Epic Mickey, Klonoa, NSMB Wii (I’m pretty sure you have this though), Wario Land Shake it and then there are platformers on Wii Ware you can download like both Lost Winds games. You also have the new Kirby Wii game to look forward too. What are some of the other games you have?

I was only thinking of more recent releases and not the games on the VC. You can download the first Sin & Punishment from there. It’s fun but you’ll have to adjust to the way how the controls are since there wasn’t a second analog stick back then and you’re not using the wii remote to point and shoot. IMO S&P2 is easily a better game simply because of the fact that you can point and shoot with the Wiimote. S&P 1 was mostly a shmup with some platforming thrown in and S&P2 is all shmup. There’s more old school platformers available for dl as well…did you want some suggestions from there and frome there and from Wii Ware as well?

You’re not a fan of monster collecting but what about Monster hunting? There is also a good chunk of shmups and old school fighting games available for dl off the VC. I think Capcom just released 1942 not too long ago.

You’re not a fan of monster collecting but what about Monster hunting? There is also a good chunk of shmups and old school fighting games available for dl off the VC. I think Capcom just released 1942 not too long ago.

What I had in mind was not so much older games from VC, but new ones made specifically for Wii that get their ideas/pay homage to retro gameplay (WiiWare included).

I’m unfamiliar with “monster hunting” games, so I wouldn’t rule those out without giving a fair chance.

By the way, I just got a brand new 42" Panasonic plasma. My component cables arrived the same day, as did Muramasa. Shit looks amazing.

Edit: Wow man, after playing this game for a while I noticed that the fighting looks very similar to Marvel! Standard bnb to launcher, air combo, and you can even do air to ground, OTG, and relaunch setups! Some of the secret arts even let you continuously relaunch. I’m bugging out over here.
