So finally got the official word on Hastings tourny.
It’s going to take place on August 7th (a saturday) at 1:00PM
No entry fee (I’d still bring a little cash just in case)
Prizes include
1st Place: 25$ Hastings gift card and controller
2nd: 20$ gift card and sf action figure
3rd 10$ gift card
All in about 2 weeks, make it a date!

A few things though, if you could clarify:
What console? I only have a 360 stick, but if it’s PS3 I’ll use a pad if they’ll supply one lol.
Double elim? Or undecided?
Whats the “controller” they wanna give away?
I can probably bring a friend who plays a decent gief, so that’s at least 4 people that are gonna go.

also I’m not sure on the controller, probably a fightpad, but don’t expect an arcade stick.

startin to sound like they need to just have it on the 360 seein how nobody seems to play ps3 and or have a stick … maybe someone can make them change it to a 360 tourney…?
I’ll try asking him to switch to 360, although he probably had a reason for it since I know he knows most of the people here in town play on 360. That reason being it was the only choice the manager would give him. I assume he has to use Hastings equipment and the only copy of ssf4 they use for display is used on ps3.
On top of that I’m betting there will be more ps3 pad players there than anything. If the choice came to pad (which it still does for a lot of people) people would rather use the ps3 pad than a 360 pad.
If you guys need a stick then ps3 shouldn’t be a problem because I own a ps3 stick and I know a friend that owns two TE’s for the ps3. So far this is only being held on one tv so we really only need two sticks, so if worst comes to worst I can just borrow and use one of his sticks and everyone who needs a stick can use mine, or vice versa, whichever my friend is okay with.
So there is obviously quite a few pad players here locally … might be an iidea to invest in a ps3 stick or dual mod, just in case some local meet up happen again… however id much rather play 360
I haven’t played pad in awhile, but I could probably pull it off if they let us use their pads, I have no problem using someone else’s stick (if that’s what you’re offering, lol. And I wouldn’t mind dual modding if PS3 is gonna be the local console of choice. If it is the general consensus that people would for whatever reason rather bring their own sticks, I wouldn’t mind bringing my 360 and copy (don’t expect any DLC costumes though lol.) But since there are only 3 people posting on SRK, I imagine there won’t be much of a consensus after all, is there anywhere else this is being discussed?
Just want to add:
I work a full-time job with 12 hour shifts and odd hours, have twin 18 month olds, a 3 year old, and am recently married. My down-time is almost non existent, so forgive me for not staying very current on here, or not showing up to anything, lol.
so what is the console of choice on this forum…? i have both systems but i only have sticks and a copy for 360… i just figure if the only intrest on here is in the 360 version why bother with the ps3 …?
well i’d like to make sure that no one has to play on pad if they don’t want to. I talked with a buddy about it today and that won’t be a problem. There will be two sticks. I’m just assuming the guy has a reason for it being on ps3 since the last time he held sf4 it was played on 360.
Hey no worries man. Family first fighting games later, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
duel mods have become much less sophisticated due to toodles chimp board. My own personal stick is a custom made duel mod for both ps3/360. To me this is the best investment right now because you never know what you’re going to need.
When I play at home I use 360 because that’s all I have, on the occasion I find myself in Dallas/Fort Worth it’s pretty much always ps3 up there. You just never know.
i just want to let everyone know on here that im god awful at this game, however if you wanna jam out and get a set in that would be great … id love to learn from someone better than me

also interest check, since there are about 5 of us posting here now how do you guys feel about regular gatherings offline at someplace. I’m willing to host games here and can get two setups if someone brings a console.

As for the weekends I am down for Friday or Saturday anytime.
My usual work schedule consists of 8 - 5 PM.
Just post up when is a good time for everyone else… I’m sure we can work something out so we can get a decent turnout.
I can do anytime after 6 during the week but I have to be back on base by 9 so yeah that sucks.
Right now I’m working 7a-7p, at least Mon Tues Weds, Sunday every other week, and all the overtime I can pick up. In a month I rotate to nights, Thur Fri Sat and every other Weds.
So for this month I can do either Thur or Fri mornings(I wake up EARLY), mid-day before 4pm, or anytime Saturday (wife permitting, haha j/k.)
I have no problem dragging my Xbox out, so if we decide on a decent time, I’ll be pretty dependable, make sure I don’t take overtime on decided day, figure out daycare, yada yada.
However, since my schedule is all fucked up, I wouldn’t be offended if you guys worked something out that doesn’t involve monthly rotations and whatnot lol.
