Yeah, I was running a toss up with Task and Hawk as well for matchups but I think Hawkeye will probably be my main man for now since I can otg up to midscreen.
The only problem with Task was that his vertical shot only covered in front of Trish and would otg a little off from the corner.
Trish’s traps already cover in front of her and kamikaze is just great for stumping super jumpers.
I hear you. I was starting to shy away from Task some this weekend because I keep getting bodied by all Hawkeyes and Hawk beats Task in the zoning game
Yeah, I’m just chucking shit with Trish/Arthur/Hawkeye lol
Sadly, my Trish isn’t that hot either, enough to sneak in a couple wins , but still nothing compared to a guy I know.
I like this team alot but in the order hawkeye/virgil/dante. The reason is just how amazingly effective hawkeye’s zoning becomes with rapid slash and jam session. Both push them back away from you giving you more space to work with. They also can help you convert off of almost anything into a full combo. All the while you are building meter and dealing chip damage.
In the event that one of your arrows hit, assuming that your assists were placed well, you get a full combo into a sword loop DHC. Of course before you dhc you add a poison arrow so that you get that good unscaled damage in while you’re doing your long sword loop which can also build you back some of that meter you just spent. I haven’t gotten sword loops down so idk how much a full combo into dhc would look like as far as damage goes but I know it won’t be lacking in that department. Though killing 1 mil health characters might be a problem. But most of them are free to zoning anyways so it’s not a huge deal to let them live a little longer.
There is some rush down you can do with these assists. You can convert off of a slide into a full combo with either assist as well as jump over them with the trick shots as the assist comes out and get a full conversion. This is a mostly about taking advantage of spacing when they get in and you either want to push them back or surprise them by going on the offensive after running away. Or if you’re facing a character you can’t necessarily just zone out and run away.
If they don’t get hit by any of that then they’re still getting pushed back and eating chip so if you really want to reset the situation you can just super scatter shot or gimlet based on the situation. Then you have three options for a DHC out. Devil trigger if you did a gimlet and it’s in a range where you can convert(Which is about a dash and a H away after the flash). Or if you did a super scatter shot to snag an assist or if you did it at a time where you could get a happy birthday you can devil trigger as well since spiral swords would scale more. Spiral Swords are really good though if you want to chip or just take the offensive. Dimension Slash also works if you did a gimlet and it hit where you can’t convert with a devil trigger such as at super jump height at mid screen or at full screen. After this if they’re not dead yet you can throw in a hawkeye assist mix-up or a jam session chip string/mix-up. If you haven’t killed a character yet you’ve been very unlucky.
I know people will have reservations about dante anchor. But I have a few logic points that may sway them. Virgil/Jam session I feel is much much stronger than Dante/Rapid Slash. Rapid slash just seems to put your opponent in positions of the screen that dante has trouble converting well off of. Also, once this team gets going it is very strong in the chip game and I feel like if you are playing your game effectively then you might force a x factor out of your opponent. You can just kill the time on their x factor with spiral swords and round trip block strings. Once that is taken care of their victory will have to be a little more deserved, so an anchor to counter other anchors isn’t going to be a huge problem. Another thing is that Dante is excellent at holding a lead and chipping out in X-factor. Devil trigger gives you a super invincible psycho crushing that destroys projectiles, and an unadvancing guardable high priority otg beam. So basically I feel like this team is so effective at what it does, if it gets going then dante being anchor won’t really factor in too much since it’s been shown that dante only helps what this team is trying to accomplish. If you didn’t accomplish anything, dante may help. X-factor does help some of his solo offensive problems. So he can bring it back if you work hard enough. But you shouldn’t be in that position if you played well, and if you did that then dante will help you close out the match either by laming it out or with chip.
In fact i sometimes run hawkeye on point when playing this team, also After a ground throw in the corner(with hawkeye) you can hard tag dante and go for a volcano into a full combo to avoid the throw scaling, this team can be played in almost any order IMO, all of them have synergy with each other, and maybe Rapid Slash is not the best for Dante, but it lets you easy combo after an airthrow, this team is so fun.

I toyed around with the Hawkeye/Vergil synergy for a little while. Its almost too easy to go into swords loop by using rapid slash assist a la like its used for Zero combo extensions in the corner. I’m trying to make Nova/Vergil/Hawkeye work or Nova/Spencer/Hawkeye since my poor Frank West team hasn’t been up to snuff lately ;(
Try Spencer/Vergil/Hawk a team that doesn’t require too much lab work , but very effective, all of them have good synergy and benefit from all the assists.
Your Vergil/Dante/Hawkeye team seems really effective as well. I started to relearn Dante(if you couldn’t already tell I’m in HUGE character crisis mode) as part of my way to restructure my whole game plan. I’ll definitely give Spencer/Vergil/Hawk a try though.
Also Spencer/Dante/Hawk works pretty well, after spencer command grab you can hard tag dante and continue the combo so you are not affected by the throwing scale, and yeah Vergil/Dante/Hawk is amazing, is a very versatile team, with good assists and you can run them in a lot of different ways , though i am still trying new teams this is the only one i have never dropped, good luck in finding your team.
i wanted to play a team that consists of hawkeye but i have no clue who i should team him up with i like strider even though he has low life who should be the point character than wesker? i dislike doom i’m not a huge fan of dante & i think taskmaster he feels weird to me idk who else would work good with hawkeye/strider
I would say the best Hawk/Strider team would be Hawkeye/Dante/Strider. Jam Session and Vajra would complement point Hawk very nicely. Dante/Strider is a super good shell also.
i’m not really feeling dante nor strider i only like strider for the assist & dante is way to technical u need to do so much in order to be good with him it’s not worth it
Well… then play characters you like. If you have no idea who to pair with Hawkeye, choose 2 characters who you think are fun and have good synergy together, then just put Hawkeye in the back. Triple Arrow is one of the best horizontal assists in the game, and can compliment literally any character.
I’ve been playing Taskmaster/Hawkeye/Akuma since the beginning of ultimate, and have since decided to drop Akuma and to get more derpy and add Vergil to my team, doing something like Taskmaster/Vergil/Hawkeye. I just wanted to post here to see what were the thoughts on Hawkeye/Vergil as a duo, if anyone has experience playing these two together, and if anyone has any interesting setups/combos with the pair to share. Any input would be great help and much appreciated!
