using haggar spencer hawkeye…greyhound is really freaken fast and at the end of an otg combo with haggar greyhound arrows really help in hoodlum launcher resets in the corner

I anchored spencer in mvc3 and he is great at it. but i really want to use him on point. he builds bar and doesn’t use much 719k off of his new bnb. nova offers a better dhc option as a second character but i will be messing around with the order so thank you for the input. I’m just curious to see how easy or hard it will be for hawk to start his own offense. Time will tell but i definitely plan on abusing those arrows.

Actually, Nova makes a pretty decent anchor as well. I think Hawkeye is really going to be relying on punishing and mixups that mounting his own offense. Slide in to crossup flip with the right assist can be very tricky for people to dodge.

I like the third team the best. Taskmaster is a great battery and I feel like Dorm’s Purification assist will help people who try to super jump in on you. I probably pick Parabolic Arrows as an assist for Tasky and Triple Shot for Hawkeye.

Personally I dont like his as anchor. But that Super arrow XF LVL3 Super Arrow from anywhere, definitely hurts

Really liking Hawkeye, Strider not sure on the 3rd though. Striders tracking teleport is a great AA, sets up combos on hit, gives enough time for his crossup mixup with H trickshot, and best of all Gimlet lets you make the assist somewhat safe. No idea on who to run 3rd though.

So Im running hawkeye/sent/trish and im prolly gonna run that for a while, but Im going to a new character tourney on friday and I need a new character for anchor. Who would you guys recommend? Im thinking maybe nova with that shield assist, I just want an assist like peekabo that will make my opponent think twice bout hitting random buttons when they get close.

running Magnus/Hawkeye/other right now, switching the third spot between Doom, Akuma, Taskmaster, Ammy or Sent, with the 3rd spot kinda depending on the matchup, like if I want air zoning or lockdown more

I’m at a little bit of a loss in how to simply PLAY as HAwkeye right now - so its affecting my team choice. I don’t want to pick a character jus for their assist and be left out in the cold if my team catches a nasty X-factor/reset setup leaving the ‘assist’ by themselves, so my teams are usually built around characters that can stand on their own, or characters I already feel pretty stable with. Anyways - is Hawkeye best played as keep away or lockdown? His mobility and ‘slipperiness’ is top teir level with the speed of his roll/hops, and his ability to cancel everything WITH those moves, so on one hand I’m abusing his movement to stay ‘away’ and just pick away or look for an opening. On the other side of the coin, I seemed more effective in my short time playing him yesterday- focused on using his arrows along with other assist to create a ‘pseudo’ lockdown (people can move too fast and well for it to be a REAL lockdown).

My team that was most effective was Hawkeye(PA)/Doom (HM)/Dorm(DH), though against Phx I switch to Doom/Hawk/Dorm so I can gimlet any opening and DHC to chaotic Flame 4tw,

I think that Trish would make a great teammate as well (a little biased because she was one of my best characters last go around) with her Peek-a-boo assist.

But I can’t help but want a ‘quick’ pressure assist - something I can use during a cross-up or up close without worrying about too much, most of my assist choices are only useful at range.

I’m kinda in a toss up between Doom and Dorm in the anchor slot of Task/Hawkeye/? Doom’s hidden missiles are great, but I do get blown up occasionally for calling him. Plus I still have troubles getting in with Doom and opening people up for combos. Dorm’s assists aren’t as good, and I’m having issues getting Doom’s Dark Hole assist to extend Taskmaster’s combo in the corner after his bnb (the dark hole is always too far to the side to catch them). But I feel like Dormammu is a stronger anchor, especially with all the chip potential like the rest of the team, and his teleport mixups can be dirty. Plus he DHCs with the other two a bit better IMO.

Anybody using Task/Hawkeye/Dormammu by chance?

This evening I was fiddling around a bit with Hawkeye/Strange/Nemesis on a total whim, and I was pretty surprised with what I found: Hawkeye and Strange seemed to be protecting each other all during the fights. Hawkeye locking down the opponent with his arrows, while Dr. Strange watches his back in the air with his Daggers of Denak assist. Likewise, Hawkeye seems to cover Stranges horizontal base pretty well. And Nemesis is just so Nemesis.

Granted, I just started messing around with Hawkeye teams, but this seems to be working decently for the moment. Thoughts?

EDIT: Another thought: Dr. Strange also stays on the screen for far less time then Doom’s assist, while still tracking the opponent. Some additional food for thought.

This is just theory since I’ve only had five minutes in training since the game came out, but I’m thinking about 2 teams, Hulk-Sent-Hawkeye and Spencer-Sent-Hawkeye.

The Hulk team will run with poison arrow, which can otg nicely off a command throw, and just about otg after a midscreen air series. Spencer will get more from the horizontal arrows assist to cover his zipline. I’m not sure about the team order, I generally want to put Sentinel in second so I can skank an assist with a DHC into providing assistance if I get the chance, but at the same time I think Hawkeye will benefit a lot from having drones on the screen.
