I can’t see why he is so weak now, any list of his nerfs from 2I or/and even NG? I just noticed his dp is bullshit in 3S and was broken as fuck on 2I, but after that??
My feeling is that Sean is less terrible than others like Twelve, Q etc… because he still has Shoto’s basics.
it looks like Sean has shoto basics but its a clever ruse. All his normals are much slower than the other shotos. Try whiff punishing with his sweep compared to the other shotos. It’s much harder. His low mk has a smaller cancellable window than the other shotos, as well as slower startup.
All his special moves have horrible frame adv on block and leave him in a crouching position for really bad punishment. Some versions of his tornado kick are punishable on hit.
Sean also built meter faster than other characters in 2I, and his SA3 had 2 stocks and could link off way more moves.
Really saying Sean has “shoto basics” is a stretch. A few similarly functioning (but weaker) normals doesn’t really make him a shoto. Besides SA2/3 he doesn’t have a reliable wakeup which is imo part of what makes a shoto. His anti air game sucks which isn’t typical of a shoto. Without meter he can’t punish anything for big damage, which all the other shotos can do. Even his fuckin SJ sucks. If you think Sean is better than 12 or Q you haven’t played anyone who is strong with those characters. And at the very least, those matchups are unique. If you know the Ken matchup, beating Sean is just an easier version of that.
And remember, Sean is the only character never to be represented in Tougeki.

well… Sean cant be that bad since he’s one of the most used character on 3SOE… there’s not a day where you run into a Sean scrub online. did i mention **online…:shake: **
He ain’t that bad because he’s usually a free win, barring lag abuse and typical shenanigans.
with overall better normals with more frame advantage and insane meter building with the bugged back+HP made the 2 meters 2I Hyper Tornado a super that was like having 3s Shippu + Houyokousen COMBINED. Perhaps with even more hitconfirms.
