So I guess you missed me saying like 3 times in the thread that I am buying Skullgirls. It’s alright. Being so used to blindly defending a game you love must build bad habits.
Who cares about that? This community is full of people who don’t care about game mechanics. That’s why AE and MVC3 trump the attendees. First impressions are everything.
And for something that’s a fan’s version of a successor to Marvel 2, a lot of people probably didn’t even really play Marvel 2 and they just spew and regurgitate stuff they heard about why the game is so good.
I don’t know. I’ll let this game ride out and see how it is. It’s a cheap trial and error. I like SFxT in it’s current form and do want some improvements to the experience however people may disagree for their own reasons.
Bring on Skullgirls.
Maybe all the SFxT hate can be converted into Skullgirls love! :3 That would be great.
This game is gonna be great, I think! Support it and let people know there is more than Capcom.
Well think of it this way. That MLP thread in the General section is now one big argument between fans and nonfans. The fans in there love talking about the show, and they post pictures too. But when they’re not in that thread they don’t talk about that stuff. (Hopefully) the same should happen for Skullgirls. They’ll go crazy in their GD, but if there’s character forums then it’s only discussion about the characters and the game, nothing should really get in your way. Hence why I can still play UMvC3 (Have you seen the OT thread in there?) It’s entirely up to you though; I have my reasons and you do too:)
I’m pretty sure that several MvC2 players confirmed their interest in it. Off the top of my head, I can only remember Fanatiq but I know for a fact there are several more. You can’t just say that MvC2 players aren’t going to be interested in this when several have already expressed interest.
And sure I agree that sometimes supporters don’t seem to promote this game the right way. They just say stuff and imply that people know what they’re talking about when it’s obvious that not everybody played MvC2 or knows who Mike Z is or whatnot. It really gets annoying to hear a bunch of white noise.
But personally, I got into this when I heard Mike Z’s vision with this game. From what I knew of him, he seemed to me to be one of those that had a vision I agreed with and would be one to actually get this shit done, no matter what it took. He was a gentleman and a scholar to me.
Also, you can’t really say anything is overhyped until you know the results. Most of us feel that SFxT got overhyped because it simply failed to deliver and the developers asked too much of us and expected us to have enough patience to deal with their BS.
Art style and character design definetly kills it for me. Sorry but i’m not gonna play a game where i don’t like the character i have to look at for 500 hours.
Wish it the best of luck though.
I will buy Skullgirls to support American fighting games, Independent/Small Dev fighting games, and fighting games made by actual players.
Even though I don’t like the versus series one bit.
Sigh , you missed the entire point of my post. I couldnt care less if you’re not gonna buy skullgirls , KoF or whatever , it really doesnt have anything to do with me. However dont use the stupid logic “I was interested in it buy since there are fanboys tellling me BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT , I am not gonna buy it”. The point is , you weren’t interested in the game in the first place.
Although I do agree that the KOF fanboys are annoying as fuck, UMvC3 is one of the most popular Capcom games out there right now. Why the hell would anyone be trying to promote it like it needs our support and sales?
Ah, the “THAT’S NOT WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT” option select. Nice one.
If I bought UMvC3, I’m definitely getting Skullgirls lol
I’ll buy it because it’s a small priced arcade title. The community for this game are very supportive but I can agree that they’re… obnoxious. It’s like they haven’t played any fighting games besides new gen Capcom fighters or they’re just desperately looking for a fighting game to enjoy. I’m sure most of these “supporters” will ditch the game in a week and go back to complaining about SFxT.
Okay.
Can you point me to where I said UMvC3 needed any kind of support in that post? Do people here just choose not to read or is it on accident or what?
Edit: I’m not trying to be rude or anything with that. It’s just people here are just pulling arguments out of thin air. “YOU THINK THE CHARACTERS WEIRD??? YOU DON’T LIKE IT BECAUSE THE CAST IS ALL FEMALE”
Will there be a demo? They can’t expect us to buy this game off hype alone.
Yes.
KS generals are less retarded than the SG gen. They’re funny most of the time.
The MLP thread in GD is a troll thread. MLP thread in this section is the genuine MLP thread. Yea, waiting on character sections (if they get them) so I can avoid that kind of crazy is gonna be my plan.
I’ll try the game cause it’s something new. I can’t knock it off until I try it. It’s going to have a demo, so I don’t see why everyone shouldn’t at least try it out.
That’s another reason why I would (or rather, am) supporting this game. If this game can at least get a small but dedicated fanbase that represents the game well, it might convince other indie FG developers and individuals with (possibly innovative and refreshing) ideas they want to try out but are concerned with not gaining an audience to start their projects and support others.
Well, that was a breathy sentence.
Yeah but there’s always that ONE GUY that has to post KS guro, and that just makes me sad.
The SG general thread definitely left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and I don’t particularly respect a lot of the guys in there for that reason. But it’s not enough to deter my interest in the game, because it’s obvious that a lot of them won’t stick around once their shit gets wrecked.
A lot of these guys seem to be under the impression that this will be the game they don’t suck at. Because I guess the game fixes issues they believe are reasons for them losing in other games. Once they realize this isn’t the case they’ll move on leaving behind the guys that are really there to build up this game for what it is. Hopefully after this you’ll be left with a much more acceptable community, one you won’t be ashamed to be apart of.
