Why people should support Skullgirls (even if they don't quite like it..)

Maybe not the right place to ask this, but in the interview with Mike Z on wake up SRK he talked briefly about some fighting game engines and programs. Is there any information out there about some free fighting game development software besides Mugen? Thanks in advance.

So far the one thing that i like the most about this game is the characters animation and the background design(have been playing only the demo. The game isnt present in the EU PS store yet).

I bought the game and loved. Haven’t seen any glitches yet, but hey, anything can happen.

On the topic of dlc characters, I’d prefer multi-character packs: 2 is fine, 4 seems perfect, 6 is the max I’d expect(or pay for assuming more characters=higher price)

EDIT: What deuce…I’m not new here, I just never post here.

$2-$5 is fine for a character on SG. any more than that is just pushing it and i dont think people will buy into it. as far as the music thing goes, im starting to agree with you. i still like the Jazzy tunes, but it makes about as much sense as it did in MvC2 (which is not at all). but in the 360 version you can easily fix that with the Custom soundtrack feature. i think anything from Danny Barronwsky (super meat boy, binding of isaac) works pretty well for the game and thats what ive been doing but yeah, could use more intensity.

$5 too much for one character.

SFxT is $20 for 12 characters. ($1.66 per)

Damn…I need to get back into this. Shit’s got balls.

part of that is ‘please forgive us!’ cost. They took a big pr hit over those characters.

I’m trying to remember, how much were the Blazblue and MK characters?

Blazblue is 40$ for 1 character and a balance patch… o_O

I personally don’t think it’ll do that well, ultimately, but I did my part (and I’ll probably buy any DLC that comes my way).

Oh damn, just got zinged!

So apparently capcom gives the best value for dlc characters, and its getting better!

Shoutouts to Mike Z. I’m posting to show my support. Great game!

Just finished playing extended sets with my sister, the green hitbox bug appeared three more times.

Weird.

Nobody really bought those, they paid for new revisions instead.

Thread is mostly pointless, because the game itself is FUCKING GOOD and should be bought on the merit of it being a FUCKING GOOD game!

I really hope this game has taught people to never take the training mode options “big budget” games offer you for granted. While I subjectively don’t really care for the game speed or characters really, I do appreciate the work and quality put in on it considering the price. However that doesn’t objectively change what this game lacks or make it ok to tell people to buy it in hopes that future patches/updates will possibly have it.

I think this game IS very Vampire Savior. Lot’s of air dashing and 1,2,3, art style, etc.

I honestly think the art similarities to the Darkstalkers series are pretty circumstantial.

The base themes are similar (dark, sexy, funny) but the real drwaing and animation style are pretty different.

Considering the crap load of references to DS thrown into the game you’d have a difficult time arguing that DS didn’t inspire Skullgirls.

@mrdr: I was referring specifically to a 1v1 game with downs instead of rounds. That really should have become the standard. Bleh.

Blazblue were $7.50 per character. $5 for MK. WWE All-Stars had the best value for DLC characters. Each character was a $1 each.

Totally circumstantial.

Now go [S]buy[/S] support WWE All-Stars.

and yet it doesn’t really look like Darkstalkers, which has a very specific style and a very different palette.

As far as ‘influenced by’, that’s tricky, how many bands say they’re influenced by the Beatles?

Edit: Is this supposed to be stickied?
