I see a lot of opinions from MVC3/SF4/SFxT players saying how uncomfortable some people feel about other players promoting SG saying at the same time how other games are crap, i am the only one who see this statement as one of the biggest ironies here?
Men are attracted to all sorts of things. I think you kinda missed the point in that whatever hint of satire or “parody” he was trying to get across by putting a bunch of stacked bitches as the roster was going to be lost because for the most part it just looks like a bunch of stacked bitches in a fighting game. All the comedy I’m gonna get from the big titties came in the form of my girlfriend after we read the measurements posted for the characters and looking at the designs up close: “Damn, has this guy ever seen a woman naked?”
Buy Skullgirls, it good game. Game is also funny but the funny is not cleverly hidden in the titties.
Most of the funny revolving the game you’ll actually have to play it to get any ways. I almost guarantee it will be one of, if not the funniest fighting game you’ve ever played. Like if you’re trying to laugh out loud while you’re playing a fighting game.
The community has a long honored tradition of being balkanized as hell. Remember ST vs 3S?
I wish that happened long enough ago where I’d actually have to do something like remember it.
I guess that’s what you get when there’s more than one fighting game. You can find the one you really like instead of being burnt out on the only game that’s out there that everyone plays. Of course the downside to that is that people will set up their trenches.
ST vs. 3S was a great argument. The golden years of FGD.
Has your girlfriend, or anyone else complaining about the improbable measurements, ever seen a cartoon?

Are you sure? Some of those boobs are HUGE. Anything could be hidden in there. It could be the funny, or it could be a colony of bees.
3S - "WTF parries and weirdos, this isn’t a real SF game"
ST - "tiger tiger tiger spam"
GG - "weeabo shit"
BB -"Not GG"
SF4 - "Sleep Fighter 4"
MvC3 - "Random shitty scrub game faceroll"
VF - "wtf this game needs a college course to play"
Tekken - "juggle fest"
DoA - "juggling tits"
MvC2 - “Mugen broken glitch fest, Capcom wasn’t trying to make a good game”
Hey Wilma is reasonable! She’s not even that busty!
(I was gonna link to an old supertight corset image, but it’s really just too awful for words)
KOF - 'Vaguely racist comment about Mexicans"
I tried to think of one for MK too, but I can’t remember anything.
so why does xesaie have an alternate account now?
I don’t know, I just don’t like the art style. Oddly enough, I really hated Hanna Barbara cartoons not just because they were corny but I hated the art style. I’ll tell you this: I’ll download the demo and give it a chance and take it from there. The only character that I like somewhat is Painwheel.
Even Lucifer is giving the game a chance, people!
It’s in my sig, but its because when I’m logged in on the other one, there’s some kind of javascript error or something, and it times out or redirects or one of like 5 different annoying errors.
I tried to get help, bug reported it, and have worked on it for about a month, so I decided to try a new account… which works perfectly with no errors (so far!).
Hanna Barbera were very much of the ‘cut as many corners as possible’ school of animation, most people hate their old stuff unless its a nostalgia thing (They became CN studios though, which does most excellent work). As far as western stuff goes, Skullgirls has more of a ‘20s short meets Tex Avery’ look to it than anything else.
Edit: Speaking of Cartoon Network studios, Stylized-in-the-manner-of-Samurai-Jack would be a good style for a Fighting game (Or PPG, but that’s what the Fighting is Magic game is, really)

There actually are some legit reasons to support the game, even if you aren’t the biggest fan. The OP just did a pretty terrible job of expressing them and in the process helped turn it into an extremism battle. Anyway, the reasons:
- To support a community-oriented fighting game developer. There isn’t any need to put down another company to make this point, but we all know issues we have had in other games, and this one is actively trying to find ways around those.
- To support an American/Western fighting game developer. This overlaps with the above a bit, but essentially there has been one fighting game franchise of significance developed outside of Japan. This leads us to be subject to the whims of Japanese game companies and their…peculiarities. Competition is always good, and helps to raise the bar of expectations.
- Because the game aims to make a real difference in helping novices to play without having those features get in the way of serious, competitive players. The tutorial mode, things like 360 detection, etc. are aimed at making things more natural and less confusing for less experienced players, but there aren’t things like input shortcuts and unbalanced mechanics (those things, along with stuff like simple mode and assist gems, really just handicap the inexperienced player and get him no closer to actually knowing how to play the game).
- to demonstrate to companies that doing the little things (good button check, good UI in general, good tools for teaching new players) is not a waste of money.
Of course, if the game is just not your thing at all, I wouldn’t blame you for not getting it. No game is everybody’s cup of tea. Nor are you required to feel as strongly about those issues as I do. Still, it’s hard to argue that this game wasn’t developed with the intentions that we all wish the larger games would represent, and I personally feel that is well worth the $15, even if I wasn’t going to play it seriously.
Well i will try Skullgirls for sure and i have high hopes for it, the only thing that i’m really worried is failure… i mean, if Skullgirls turns out to be a bad game this will gonna be the biggest disappointment in Fighting Games history.
People who think that SG have no casual appeal just don’t know the facts: Alex Ahad (character designer) has HUGE ASS following for his SG works. Deviant Art is fucking FLOODED with SG fanart and even original characters for it. There is shitload of people who are going all “I always thought FG characters are boring but SG I will try”. Hell, even SG GD on SRK have bunch of people who never played FGs but now willing to start because of SG. So don’t give me that masculine shit. Hourglass hotties have their following. Cartoony maniac girls have their following. Undead chicks with snakes in heads have their following. Zombie-cat girls have their following. Do not count them off, yo >_>
It’s *explicitly *a thread to promote skullgirls, lol. It’s in the title.
Also, if you can’t decide, try the demo! Demos are free!

Warpticon, it overlaps with your points 1 and 2, but;

[*]Support an independant game developer. It’s like striking a blow against the sequel factories and producer douchebags that overrun the game industry.

Nah. There’s a few other FGs I can think of that would be bigger disappointments than a $15 title
