Why Jin sucks in Mvc2 (a article)

Actually, Jin’s AA assist does set up combo for point characters. One of the best, if not the best point characters in the game, Storm. That’s right, Jin’s AA assist combos into hailstorm. Sometimes I use Storm/jin/megaman or storm/jin/some other non-top tier) and i do that combo.

jin’s AA is weird cuz it keeps em in hit stun longer than it looks like it should. like one time I called jin AA and hit em with the assist and i did the hail storm kinda late (and it already has a little delay before it comes out) and it STILL comboed.

I was suprised that it comboed, but the thing about his AA assist is that it knocks the other guy STRAIGHT up, capcom’s assist knocks em to the other side of the screen away from you. jin’s knocks em straight up into the hail storm, closer to your side of the screen. Oh yea, and a good chipping move to do with jin is jumping d+Hk+storm projectile assist, repeat. I know you can push block it but its still pretty good.

Please explain BASE FIGHTING (and how it compensates for his mobility issues and average damage output).

Basic fighting

One on one fighting, no assist, Jin is one of the best in the game. Just basic fighting.
Like in MvC1 before all the assist madness.

he sucked in mvc1 and if you say otherwise you’re fighting people who are random.

He wasn’t the best in MVC1, as he wasn’t on par with Strider/Wolverine or double War Machine, but he wasn’t that bad. At the start of the round, I think he had the fastest attack, if you knew how to time it properly, though it could have traded with Hyper Venom.

You could turtle by super jumping fierce/roundhouse attacks, and bait something so you pull off his bread’n’butter combo, of c.jab, c.strong, Blodia Punch. In the corner you could pull off two. Again, he wasn’t the best, but he wasn’t the worst, about mid-tier.

MvC2 ain’t your game… seriously. Play MSH or something else if you can’t deal with the whole assist concept.

re: comboing off Jin AAA (a few posts up)

Hail Storm is more of the exception rather than the rule when it comes to comboing off assists and DHC in/DHC out though, owing to the fact that it covers virtually the whole screen.
