Why is no one discussing the coming takeover of the FGC by Riot Games (League of Legends)?

please stop talking about stuff you don’t know about. Gundam vs doesn’t work as 1v1. Smash works fine 1v1 or doubles.

next u gonna tell me u ban throws in SF

It’s you who doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

As far as Smash Bruddas, Sakurai himself said that he intended Smash to be a party game for the kiddies (and everyone else), but the most autist of autists turned it into “le edgi competition super srs 1v1 me bro” game to try and fit in with the rest of the FGC (which is funny because a lot of them then have the nerve to bash other members of the FGC and say asinine things like “lul anime fighters r bad”).

I’ve helped run tournaments for Gundam. It’s fine 1v1, and if you don’t like it then tough titties.

I don’t always agree with Pertho, but he’s at least usually well informed about a subject, meanwhile you seem to just have a very opinionated and marginalized view on vidya.

a LoL fighting game would have to be SOOOO GOOD in order to convert/steal away street fighter players. If it ends up being “ok” but appealing to LoL players then it will probably just have its own scene like any other number of games and not interfere with street fighter’s scene at all.

It wouldn’t matter if is the 2nd comming of jesus.
You gringos ignore anything that doesn’t have the sf name or the marvel vs name on it.

Tbqh most of this thread sounds like a bunch of “u mad”

Que the Michael Jackson popcorn meme.

I’ll legit agree at gundam though, who the fuck plays Gundam vs 1v1 outside of a side tournament for shits and giggles, that’s like playing TF2 1v1 only - with capture objectives, it’ll work but nowhere near the way that it’s intended

SETTING UP FOR THE FOLLOWING “JUST LIKE COMPETITIVE SMASH POST” TAKE THE SHOT

Only reason i can think of is because you’d have to run a pokken esque setup except with 4 players and have 4 ps3s each with the game imported to have it running correctly game barely handles split screen for 2 players at 20 fps , so basically the situation would otherwise only arises just because it’s difficult as fuck to setup otherwise.

I think IF Riot Games would make a “traditional” fighting game they will try ensure that it will be played and have a pro scene. So if someone don’t like it they can cover their eyes and hope that it will go away. But it probably won’t. It will try to agessively invade into FGC and pour money in it untill they can claim it with huge RIOT GAMES banner (like it happend with League tounament scene in the begining, I think Thooorin or Richard Lewis talked about it.)

Also: Rioters play Smash (they mentioned it in their podcasts and they even made a league mod for it). And have several Marvel vs arcade cabinets in their HQ… And had several drafts on league fighting game at their “thunderdome” (which looked like normal fighting game).

Someone mention a Loli fighter? I thought thems things was illegal in the great state of Mississippi.

But in Mississippi you allow child beauty pageants, or was it Arkansas?

I Don’t know, the further you get south of the Mason-Dixie line the more you find the horde of lice-picking, lard-eating, bible-thumping, nose-thumbing hooligans. Where people have more tattoos than teeth.

Still, tell your State senators to ban the Anime Loli fighter as it makes Baby Jesus cry.

I didn’t need to see that picture.

I just looked it up. “Someone” needs to “leak” that mod.

Riot will make fighting games great again.

More importantly, LoL’s entry to the genre will increase the amount of Jinx doujins.

Jinx x Cammy, make it happen.

Even in 1-on-1 games, players will find something to blame for their losses. Why do you think LTG exists?

Yes but the key difference is that it’s easier to deflect blame on someone else and try to establish a somewhat reasonable explanation. For instance, in League, if a game goes unrecorded (as most do), then the only indication you have of how well someone did was their score. If you see their score, comparative to their teammates, then that person (if they’re a scrub) will be like “see look this guy fed way harder than me so it was his fault I lost!” Now, from time to time, that can be a claim that isn’t often disputed because people have experienced that from time to time. It happens. People have bad games, sometimes so bad they ruin it for everyone else. If we had footage of the game though, we can see whether or not that player who was deflecting blame on their teammate was justified in their claims or if they were part of the problem and didn’t help at all. Another thing to be considered is that typically, if someone is struggling in a team game, then the rest of the team can still potentially carry the shitty player so there’s still partial blame to go around for the rest of the team, but to scrubs, they’ll just do mental gymnastics and glaze over that fact and try to learn something from their loss.

However, in the case of modern fighting games, it’s a lot easier to find replay data and footage of people who consistently played like hot garbage. They have nowhere to run when it comes to blaming their loss, and any amount of mental gymnastics they do doesn’t convince the rest of us. LTG can cry and complain about “cheap” characters all he wants, but the fact of the matter is we don’t take him seriously because we see how he plays compared to his opponents. Without that footage though, he and anyone who speaks the way he does, would still not be taken as seriously.

All in all, it’s much easier for shitters to get away with whining in team games because deflecting accountability is not only easier to do, it’s easier to get away with. If those babbies decided to even touch a fighting game, you know that they would be embarrassed immediately.

If it seemed like a legit attempt at a new IP fighting game like rising thunder was, then I’ll give it a chance. If it’s just a LoL themed fighter, thanks but no thanks. I’m sure I’ve seen characters from LoL before, but I honestly can’t remember any of them. That means according to my brain, they’re forgettable.
