Why is everyone always playing in 6 player rooms?

I don’t get it. Every time I join a game with an SRKer on my friends list, I’m always taken to a room with 6 players. Am I the only one who finds these rooms painful?
You can’t afford to experiment or play new characters, because if you lose, you have to wait forever for another turn. Then when you finally get a chance to play again, half the time it disconnects.

Also there’s usually a couple bad players in the rooms along with the good players, which just eats up time between good games.

So someone please explain the 6 player room phenomenon to me.

I agree with you, but what I don’t get are people that play 2 out of 3. 3 out of 5 is clearly the way to do it.

lol i dont like 6players rooms also but ussually i just join the first room i find
BTW brian you havent accepted the friend request i sent you

i love 6 player rooms, if its with good players or with buddies. more incentive to play harder so you dont have to wait. saying you hate a 6 player room is like saying “fuck arcades.” I find motivation there to play harder, cuz I dont wanna wait either.

6 player rooms do suck tho with randoms, and it does suck if no one is talking if in a room with good players and buddies.

maybe because people like playing with alot of other people and not just 2 or 3… plus i play better

yeah that too, i like playing a lot of variety. yeah i can just hop from room to room. but when i can get players like valle, cole, sirlin, etc etc etc in one room, i got a very diverse set of top players in one room. works for me.

+1
I think there should be some unwritten rule that if you just want to “practice” or want to play more often, just create a room with three people. If you’re in a room with a bunch of friends, then go for six.

The worst is when it’s a three out of five and there are six players in the room!

I agree with all the things that sabre said, except for that I don’t get that experience because I don’t find games with familiar people that often. Still tons of people on here that I haven’t played even once yet.

that’s a serious room right there lol

3of5 rounds in any room with more than 2 people is weak. hell even 1v1 is weak at 3of5

I quit out of any room set to 3 out of 5. It’s just boring as fuck, not just to watch but to play, and half the time I think the match is over after 3 rounds anyway.

Absolute worst is 3 out of 5 with infinite time.

3 out of 5 is painful. If you’re crap, you wait an extra couple of minutes at the back of the queue to get an extra 15 seconds of play time. If you’re winning it makes no difference to your play time, its just horribly retarded.

6 player rooms are only good if everyone has mics and are good.

I don’t mind 6 player rooms, and I don’t mind 3/5. And I especially don’t mind 6 player rooms that are 3/5. Gives me time for smoke breaks! :smokin:

6 player rooms are fine IF there are people talking and shit, or if its with people i know. that is when it feels like the arcade because you can talk with the other guys there while in the queue. unfortunately most of the time on xbl what happens is

6 person room

nobody talks, or its just trash talk

BORING AS SHIT

i know im contributing to the “nobody talks” thing because my stick doesnt have a headset port (working on that…), so recently i have been using my shitty hori EX2 so i can talk and maybe liven up a room. im so self sacrificing i make myself cry.

also 3/5 sucks. i can only stand 3/5 with a maximum of 3 people, and those people have to be interesting or i am out.

I agree 200%

keep in mind tho i ONLY use a mic with people i know. im not interested with what some random xbl punk has to say, which is usually trash.

plus i gotta buy a new mic =)

Man I never catch you on XBL, we need to play some HDR man, you know, I wanna re-live the GGPO beatdowns, in HD!

(Is your stick STILL fucked?)

6 player rooms are good because it allows maximum exposure for beatdowns you hand out or receive. 3/5 rounds do suck though.

Sabre, when are you on? I want to show you something.

so many scrubs love to make rooms with those settings for some reason
