Its obvious that you don’t play 2D fighters, or the other 3D fighters for that matter. In most games if you hit a move that knocks down your opp you are at advantage/are neutral by the time you recover from your move. THERE IS NO MOVE IN ANY SF GAME(other than SFA1 with certain supers in certain situations, and SFA2 IIRC with the jab recovery roll) THAT KNOCKS DOWN AND STILL LEAVES THE PERSON THAT ATTACKED AT DISADVANTAGE. If you get knocked down unless you purposely did another attack meaty there should be no reason for you to get hit on your opp’s wakeup.
What exactly makes people think that the Ninjas are some kind of demigod characters that dominate the game? They have weaknesses just like everyone else, and there are non-ninja characters that can compete against them and even win.
I’m not trying to defend the game (in fact, I think it’s subpar as a competitive fighter), I just want to know what makes people think that Ninjas>>>the game.
I was assuming that this is what PL was referring to.
Because in DOA4 being able to tech roll and manage to beat out your opponents attack means you’ve knocked them down to far away to gain any sort of advantage or are doing something really slow.
Speaking of DOA4, I doubt alot of people here watch the Championship Gaming series but anyways i was watching the semi-final DOA4 mens match between Carolina and Birmingham. Birmingham only needed to win one match in DOA to take it while Caroline needed 6 in a row to take it.
Long story short, Carolina won 5 in a row and lost the match that count.
I don’t know seeing a fighting game like DOA in a televised setting does make me hope that SFIV gets the same treatment. But it probably won’t.
Well there could be hope for a decent sequel if they put a new lead to the franchise since Itagaki lef. . .er got fired.I actually think it could compete if it got a complete overhaul.
Stuff like that is mostly controlled by the Xbox Live generation of players. They are the ones who think DoA is one of the best fighters and Halo is the greatest FPS franchise on gods green earth. So don’t expect SF4 until Evo finally gets the real coverage that it deserves.
Because they do. Hayate, Ayane, Hayabusa and Kasumi = Top-Tier. Any scrub could pick them can start mashing buttons and bad things could possibly start happening.
nope they split it up. The whole competition is based on a point system which was why that DOA matchup was so important. Honestly out of all the games thats in the tourney i really hate the Forza matchups because it always ends up coming down to who rams who into the wall first.
Here’s some reasons why I think the game is retarded:
Stun System-It’s WAY too hard get out of being stunned without reversing out. You could damn near be stunned forever if you don’t attempt to reverse. And to top it off, stuns happen WAY too often.
Reversals-They stop almost every pratical move in the game. They instantly cut off almost any type of hitstun except floats. They recover too fast. The timing window is active too long. Some do retarded things like Hyabusa’s piledriver, juggle, or wallslam which do too much damage for a reversal. Low Reversal missed animation ducks high hits and throws so when stunned Low Reversal beats 2 attack options.
Stages-Obstacles like bridge level make the gameplay really dumb. It’s hardly fair because on a lot of the stages the traps are really easy to hit. I take one hit at the beginning of the match and now I have to lose an extra 1/3 life for falling? Dumb. Wait, did I just get run over by a velociraptor? So dumb my head hurts.
Hi-Counter Damage Whatever-Why should I get raped harder because I got stunned, tried to reverse, and got thrown? Is there a more pratical way to get out of stun?
Basically DOA4 is trash and it’s proof that we’ve died and gone to Hell because they’re playing this shit on TV for money.
“We’re probably in Hell already, our dumbasses not knowing. Everybody kissing ass to go to Heaven ain’t going.”-Tupac Shakur
The way the DOA matches are televised on the CG series is fucking ridiuclous. I hope SF4 gets big and is taken seriously, but never gets the “same” treatment as DOA4. If you playing a game, you don’t need a manager in a highpowered busniess suit with a bluetooth in their ear telling you how “You da best. This other guy got nothing. Own her!”:lame:
It’s looks so corny, I think it gives serious gaming a bad image. Like they are trying to look like superstars or something.
Why does everyone say the new Mugen games are trash?
I don’t get how they are trash they are very balanced the martial arts switching is very solid but adds a bit of randomness to the games but if you know what you are doing then it doesn’t become random it is skill. You have your fair set of characters ranging from Homer Simpson to Luigi to Sungatsu Orokusagoki Brolakuma. i think it is a very good fighter so please do enlighten me on the “trashyness” of it
Basically its eltist opinions in srk that say this game is shit. But fact shows that it is a good game and a good fighter, just because it may not be as deep as vf or tekken doesn’t make it weak.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say its an elitist opinion BUT i think its more towards being bitter. It sucks to see game like DOA4 eclipse games like Tekken and VF. Its not to say DOA4 is shit but i just feel they should switch it up and do another fighting game.
ok then if this game is a button masher then vs me first to win 10 matches of 5 round per match then i will say the game is a button masher
(Hey this is my little bro borrowing my account to make these posts. I personly don’t know jack shit about any DOA to add to the convo. Just wanted to get that across.)
