I’m playing the Starter edition. And I notice that about 90%+ of joinable games go at maximum (“faster”) speed. This is even faster than Starcraft 1 (but at least its not as fast as Warcraft 2 Bnet edition). And it leaves no player any reasonable time to do any kind of multitasking with battle tactics and managing more than 1 base. It is to the extent that I can’t even attempt to expand because then it would get too complicated and bogged down.
this might’ve been funny if it were posted to a starcraft 2 forum
in fact, is that where you copy and pasted it from
ROFL
stay bronze you scrub. This is the worst, most illogical complaint i’ve ever read.
I am so mad I didn’t recognise this was a Beguiled thread right off the bat :\

I prefer faster speed myself, but have always wondered why this is even an option to change. I mean, if the vast majority play at “Faster”, what’s the point of having “Normal” or “Slow”?
Troll thread aside, Normal is the speed the game is designed for in Single Player. All the times for the game are based on this; so if it says 60 seconds to upgrade +1 weapons, that’s 60 seconds on normal. But on faster, the time just goes by faster, so that 60 second upgrade might only take 45 real seconds. Multiplayer is played on Faster because SC already takes too fucking long per game, and dragging that out by 20% more is just silly.
Of course why they even give the different speed options, I think it’s just because of it being grandfathered in. I’m sure Brood War was played on Faster even though the game was intended to be played originally on Normal, and then in SC2 it just kinda hung around. It would solve a lot of problems (APM being off, In Game Timer being off) if the Faster was just standardized to 1 game second = 1 real second and nobody was given the option anyway
How would you manage things like ghosts sniping/nuking, position tanks for offensive siege mode, and tactical maneuvers in combat? It is fast enough that it is impractical to even make use of those things because, meanwhile, you have to:
build more workers
move some workers and units over to an expansion area,
do another unit upgrade once the current finishes
build another supply depot (or 2, or 3, depending on the stage of the game)
build some defense structures near the expansion
make sure your unit-producing structures are each building something
decide whether to tech up or build more barracks/factories/etc
continue scouting the map for enemy expansions
make sure you got enough refineries and SCVs gathering for your gas demands
all at the same time. I’m sure I forgot something, but the point is: its like trying to solve one rubix cube with one hand, while solving another rubix cube with the other hand, and all within a strict time limit
Protip: Build more pylons.
Protip: Go back in time and get a Korean guy to fuck your mom before you were conceived.
^_-;
what if his dad IS korean? Or even worse…North Korean?
His avy is pretty fitting, no? Kinda just like WAAAAAAAAH LOOK AT ME!
lol stay free
Then he wouldn’t be complaining, because if he was any % Korean max SC speed would be too slow.

At least this isn’t another thread about failing at social interaction…
Here’s the almighty solution, check out some guides and practice until you can play at that speed, or try a different game.
It’s a trap!
