Because when they fight a low end below average Socks, it is a very one sided fight! Imagine a high end player fighting a player like myself. Someone who doesnt do trials or any amount of training at all. Think how one sided that fight would be?
I don’t main Sakura but I like her DP. Hits like seven times and she dashes in to do it. BEats stupid lariats. Plus I love charging her hadoken. Looks better than Gouken’s.
I agree, which is the only reason why I’m still sticking with Sakura. But damn she makes me look bad at Gamestop though.
I put her as my easiest to beat, she really is. I’m not really happy to say it either.

Unfortunately, they’re telling the truth. There are fewer good players that can win with Sakura than there are with any other available character (even Dan players have more players with the ability to win than Sakura does.) Very often I get messages after fights that I was the “only” good Sakura that particular person has played, and claim all other Sakura players just flat out suck. I’ve even seen it on Youtube videos where players with no real gameplan or knowledge of Sakura get flatout destroyed by whoever else they were facing. Also add onto the fact that Sakura’s SFIV design is weak compared to the others, with NO real moves in which even a novice can abuse to win (coughlariat&SPDcough) or get out of tight situations safely, and you’ve got a character that 9 out of 10 times in a casual mindset is going to get beaten, even if a good player is behind the helm of her.
The general rule is that if you’re any good at this game, you’re not playing as Sakura, but someone else with much more options and abilities (Ryu, Sagat) to take advantage of how good you are; to get more bang for your buck. Therefore, almost all regular Sakura players really aren’t good at all. It’s literally “Sad but True” [hehe, Metallica reference], but that no way brings me to stop using her as my main. It just makes me prouder that I’ll probably be that one loss on a random guys’ win/loss ratio when they look at their vs. Sakura rankings. “Oh, when the hell did I lose to a Sakura? …oh, yeah, that’s right. THAT guy. That guy was a damn good Sak.”

I’m a shotos player (Ryu and Ken). Usually when I start to play Player Matches, I like to use Sakura to gauge my opponents strength and weakness so I can kick their asses later with my real shotos.
Also, I used Sakura and deliberately loose in the first match so people wont log out after I beat them up first matches. And then I notice this: people will literally kick me out if I beat them up with Sakura. Something about using Sagat/Zangief/Balrog and get their asses whooped by little Sakura that make them real mad and humiliated.
But yes, Sakura is fun to play with.
I’m a bit of a noob, but I’m already starting to find some moderate success with her online against opponents with more experience than me. I find myself most comfortable playing this character too even though I’m still learning. I think some people tend to underestimate her giving me a bit of an advantage with the psych game. 
The underestimating, in my experience, doesn’t happen anymore if they see you in the finals with over 40,000 Championship points though hahaha
Too add on the what De said, when you see a highly skilled Socks player, it is a beautiful thing! Her domination is amazing when the right person gets a hold of her. :lovin:
Actually, thats my main driving force on playing with Sakura.
I want to be the one of the players where people say, “That dude is really good cause he be beastin’ ppl with a Sak!” as well, but boy…I’m on my last fumes with her, especially after last night’s debacle with her over my brother’s house online.
Why did Capcom make Sakura this damn bad!?
She wasn’t nearly this bad on the Alpha series and EX series.
But it seems that all the console characters who isn’t Akuma or Gouken suck donkey balls compared to the others, even moreso Sakura.
I think she’s fine. Sure she isn’t top tier anymore like in Alpha or CvS2, but she can stun players with just one reset (provided you start a string with c.HP instead of EX Tatsu’ing immediately after it), which is pretty much 50 - 50. Didn’t Justin Wong said she was the best console character because of this? :lovin: Oh and the best FA in the game, imo.
(Still, I’d love to have the Dive Kick though… And an Ultra that still has a good use after combo’ing into it.)
I have also received some of these ‘praise’ messages (more than hatemails, thats for sure). However, since she’s my main and I just like her style, it’s not necessarily the reason I continue to main her: I just wanna win my matches and I have the most chance with her (except against Gief)
I have much respect for you sticking your guns with Sakura no matter what.
Normally, all my praises come from playing with Chun-Li, who as of now is my new main until my game with Sakura is better. Isn’t she mid high tiered? People act like she sucks or something. They be like, “Wow, you beat my Sagat with a CHUN LI!” Like…so?
man i get nothing but hatemail… everyone either bitches at me cause i throw taunts out there during dizzies, or they get pissed cause i throw when they just sit there blocking. i think ive only gotten like 5 compliments on my sakura, 4 from which are on my friends list, and the last was a 12k sagat i perfected in a g-2 finals
ive even gotten a death threat. the guy said hed find me, and beat the living shit outta me and rape my mother, cause hes a “gangsta” and all my tactics are too cheap (mind you he was playing sagat and doing nothing but throwing tiger shots and tiger uppercuts)
