ive been playin her since mvc2 i liked how she was a different take on the shoryuken players.

but no, really… she combos good and although she’s a shoto, you can’t really spam anybody with her weak ass hodokens. I feel accomplished when I beat scroto hos with her.

I played with Sakura since A2 as well, although I was only six then. I didnt seriously play with her til the EX series, but yeah, I liked her since 1996.
I like Sakura because like someone else says, she fights just to fight, not to investigate or to overcome some Satsui no Hadou bullshit or fame.
Also, she is a Japanese schoolgirl…nuff’ said.

I instantly fell in love with Sakura the moment she was revealed in Alpha 2. Her design was just perfect for me, a high school girl who is fascinated with fighting and wanting to meet her inspiration first hand so that she could get stronger. It wasn’t just her being a pretender, but that she was actually GOOD at fighting as a “pretender”. The fact that a schoolgirl could hold her own in the ring with the likes of accomplished adult martial artists, power-hungry tyrants and weirdos started a trend for me always playing as characters similar to her in other games (Ellis from Toshinden, Talim from Soul Calibur, Uriko from Bloody Roar, numerous young girls from Tekken, etc…)
Not only that, but her novelists reflects her nature, and it’s a blast nailing combos and other moves with her. She’s literally a “fun” character (unlike people like Sagat, who’s designed for those who like to dominate and such), so I make it my business to almost always play as her whenever she’s available. She’s my all-time favorite character for a reason.

i technically didnt really start playing SF until the HD remix. and they didnt have sak so i used cammy. then my roommate introduced my to CvsSNK2 and told me to test out sak so i did… i didnt know the combos so i cant say i had much fun, but i definitely liked the character design, and the dance winnin pose was the best. when SF4 came out i decided to main up sakura cause cammy felt different to me and i hated how only the EX cannon drill goes under hadoukens. after i learned the combos, ive been using sak ever since… even in CvsSNK2. i also tend to now like going for the considered “underpowered” characters in other games… theyre usually more fun to both play and watch, and it makes me feel like i actually worked for my wins

Sakura wasn’t always underpowered though. I remember kicking way more ass with her in the Alpha days.
yeah… i may pick up on athena in KoF XII too, but i really want yuri… yuri truly is the KoF version of sakura. so sad shes not in it =(
yeah i just started playing the alpha games and its so easy mode with her. although some of her links are a little different… i remember playing that for a couple weeks before coming back to SF4 and i kept screwing up hahaha… i kept trying to throw shinkuu hadoukens and the midare sakura, which arent in SF4 (unless you count the shinkuu hadouken as her EX hadouken, and the midare sakura as her EX shouoken). her in CvsSNK2 is brutal. that roll makes crazy good cross up opportunities. and with the right grooves you can put pressure/punish soo well
i like her standing roundhouse. it takes up a crapload of space and feels good when you land it.
Hey all, I’m new here and this seemed like the perfect place to start. 
I’ve been maining Sakura since day 1. Actually had a short break to practice with Ryu for nationals (no unlockable characters allowed, boo!), but went right back to my favorite schoolgirl after. :looney:
I like to use her because of her FA. God, her FA rocks my socks. Fast, good range and very low, that’s just perfect. I always spam FA(DC) with whoever I play (I bet I have the most weird Gief ever), and I can safely say that she has the best one in my eyes.
Isnt Yuri like, Ryo’s sister? If so, she should of been in it even more.

im not sure exactly if shes ryos sister or not, but yes, shes almost exactly like sakura: charge hadouken (execpt reverse… uncharged it has no range, charged goes across screen); shes got a dashing shoryuken where she runs forward, just like sakura. shes quick like sakura and has a funny ass taunt. the only thing shes missing is a tatsu and the otoshi. but she makes up for it with a jumping fireball.
Also, in certain KOFs, she has a Shin Shoryuken.
She also has that kick ass move where she grabs them and slaps them up. And the booty hit normal, LOL… That’s my favorite Yuri move.
