My logic is that since the Alpha series started before II, she was stated to be 15. SFII happened three years later, making her 18 or 17 going on so. SFIV happens about a few months after II. But that’s my logic.
But nevertheless, Capcom is *horrid * when it comes to keeping storylines the same :annoy:
He said it in the podcast with questions asked by the Capcom-unity members.
Your logic is flawed She’s 16 in 1989, SF4 takes place in 1994/5, which would put her 21/22.
Apparent “official” timeline for the games:
SF1 - 1987
SFA2 - 1988
SFA3 - 1990
SF2 - 1993
SF4 - 1994/1995
SF3: Second Impact - 1998
SF3: Third Strike - 1999
Also if you want to relate her to a SF2 character; Cammy is 19 in SF2, 15 in Alpha 3 (and a year younger than Sakura) so logically speaking Sakura has to be older than 20.
On her little movie when you pick her to play against the arcade, she is just getting out of highschool when she arrives at Dan’s dojo. Also in the Alpha movie, isnt she like 15 years old and WTF at the Japanese pitting a 15 year old girl to fight grown men lol.
I doesn’t say anything about Sakura leaving high school in her prologue Dan’s dojo is in Hong Kong I believe (Blanka’s ending states he’s there) but Sakura can always travel during vacation time. Sakura’s relationship with Dan is inspired by the Sakura Ganbaru manga, she does quite a bit of traveling with him in the second volume
Ono was the producer of SF3 as well I believe, he’s been with Capcom for a while now
Cell phones and such are just to modernize it more, if Viper can have a state of the art battle suit then they can have cell phones a few years earlier
Best not to think too much about it, looking for a coherent plot in a fighting game is pretty fruitless
Yeah it really doesn’t matter anymore lol it’ll give you a headache. I thought Dan’s Dojo was in Japan, since thats where he was currently located in the Sakura Ganbaru manga?
Last Sakura saw of Dan was in Thailand before he might have fought Sagat. She certainly did “train” with Dan in Japan but he didn’t seem to have a dojo there, they just did their “training” around Sakura’s home town.
In Blanka’s ending Dan helps Blanka’s mother find him, Blanka states he’s in Hong Kong in his letter. It’s not much of a stretch to think that Dan has his dojo in Hong Kong Guess it’s possible that Dan could have one in Japan too but I don’t think he’d be able to afford it
Only character I feel comfortable with so far. Plus the things she says make me lol. Oh and when she wins and does that running thing and then it says the comment… Yeah I have to say she has the best one.
I used to play Sakura but changed to Dan since my friend plays with her now. I believe the reason why people take Sakura (like Dan) is because there is a sense of greatness watching ‘puny’ characters like Sakura and Dan beat high-tier characters.
Ofcourse unlike Dan, Sakura is a more competent character due to her devastating combos and resets.
Peronally after watching what Sakura was capable of in Evo I believe she should be higher in the tier rankings.
I’m slowly getting better at hitconfirming on jumpins. But if I’m FADCing in and instead of throwing I try to combo, I haven’t built my reaction speed up to reliably stop if it’s blocked. Also, the muscle memory becomes a bit of a hinderance as my hands do the full chain automatically unless I purposely stop. I wish it would automatically stop unless I SAW the hit, I’d lose a lot less matches.
Also, This new avatar you have is AWESOME Joe. I love it.
I’ve gotten complements on the last four I’ve had lol My first Joe-oh-ken one (you should remember that!), my Dan booty shake loop, my King av, and my old Dan one.
This would be the second or third compliment so far. Premium Membership is awesome.
Anyways hit confirming always seems to be such a hassle you know? I rarely ever feel like doing it and need to get it ingrained in my brain so I can actually hit someone with an EX Shunpu.
Well you don’t need to hit confirm with EX Shunpuu but you might just end up wasting meter that way You’re other option is to use Light Shunpuu as hit confirms, think they give you more time to think (as well as a bit more damage and stun), the only downside is they’re harder to do (the link, not the move itself :P).
