Some of the music is very catchy.
Seeing all the endings for good games- done this for everything from SF2 up to CVS2. :karate:

Ditto. I’ve been playing SF2 in its various incarnations since the game came out for the SNES, and in all this time I’ve never tried picking up Honda. I know very little about using him, so I’ve been busy finding Honda combos and stuff I didn’t know existed, and in the process even learned a couple things about the game itself. That’s one of the reasons why fighters rule; 15 years later, there’s still more to do. The other? A good fighting game is the most strategic thing I’ve ever laid hands on. Beating people in a fighting game, you know you’ve done something better than they have. That’s why I like picking low tier; when you win, you’ve outsmarted and/or outplayed your opponent. And I like outsmarting people.
I used to play mmorpg’s, but tired of power leveling character after character and rampant sploiting. I played shadowbane, and I grew to hate that game. It seems that fighting games are actually more deep and complicated, rather than advanced versions of rock/paper/scissors. I also like that fact that in the arcade you can shake hands with your opponent after the fight. There are serious assholes with no sense of comradery playing mmorpg’s. Fighting games seem to have less of this, though I have not played online. I just prefer real pvp in the arcades. Plus, its fun to be constantly evolving and learning detailed nuances of a game with freinds and starngers who share the same enthusiasm.
I seem to have broken down why I like fighting games into a simple equation.
Buttons + Lights = Fun -> Fun = Good
I play fighting games because I love martial arts!!! Its something I can be great at, I have a strong desire to be the BEST at fighting games, I think they are easier and better than women. Laugh if you want…my personal opinion.
I don’t think there’s any kind of game quite as intense as when you’re pitted against a fighting game opponent of similar skills. In most games, you’re either pitted against a computer opponent or a puzzle. But a fast-paced game against another human is where it’s at.
I enjoy the social aspect of fighting games and Halo/Halo2. I play very little on my own. I play RPGs just because they’re easier to get into than books.
Yes, maybe for you and me.
But for the most part, fighting games aren’t much about exploring, even less about thinking hardcore. It’s about going as far as cockriding will take you. It wasn’t always so, but SRK is an underscore of that.
well, for someone to cock ride, there’s gotta be a cock…
Yep. The ones belonging to the people who win.
I play fighting games for two reasons:
It’s a test of reflex & skill - against another human and against an ideal. I can do a lot of cool crap in my head, but it takes practice to execute. And to me, that journey towards perfection - and the obvious gulf that stands between us - is what keeps me coming back for more. As long as I see progression of my ability, I will continue to play.
I play for the thrill of competition and conquest, be it against a computer or a real player, I just like the fun of facing off against someone.
i disagree, i don’t think it’s about cockriding
