Actually…I think “Guy” in this case means Guy from the Alpha and Final Fight series. They both have that “ninja” persona and so forth.

When Ryu fought Gouki in SFZ2, it was mostly for revenge and/or curiosity to find out if Gouki killed his Master, but he’s moved past it. So much so that in SF3 Gouken’s name doesn’t come up at all and he simply tells Gouki “Satsui No Hadou is not the way.”
Fighting for revenge in SF is bad, and they hammer this over and over again. Guile has to let it go and not kill Vega(Cape), Chun-Li has to put it past her and move on with her life, Sagat has to put his vengeance against Ryu to the side so much so that his vengeance blinded him causing him to loose his fight with Adon, Gill has to let Alex win, etc.
Yeeaaa, let’s not say that Ryu didn’t win SF2 since it hasn’t been confirmed either way.
I thought it was confirmed that Guile won SF2? He defeated Bison (Vega, whatever, the psycho power guy), was about to kill him, but then realized he would be just as evil if he did. So then Akuma came out of nowhere and raging demoned bison for the hell of it.
At least, thats what I read.

Kyrdu, I think you probably read Tiamat’s plotguide; but if you notice, he doesn’t say that Guile OFFICIALLY won it, he just believes that Guile is the most likely to have won it. It’s never been confirmed, though. And I personally like to believe that Ryu won it.
um, because this is the only place where i can stay in contact with fellow streetfight fans and have writer feedback.
Then acknowledge we are Street Fighter Fans meaning we like all or most of SF and we are not just Cammy fans or people who like only one character and you’ll go far.
The reason I admire Ryu is because he is a man who can dedicate himself so whole-heartidly to a goal. He dedicated his entire life to perfecting his martial arts and becomming strong. He is a man of honour and would not submit to evil and he fights to discover himself, that is why I think Ryu is cool (BTW just in case any of you are worried because checking this, it sounds weird, I am aware that Ryu is fictional lol).
I like Ryu as a character but I hate it when my buddies play him no matter what game he comes out in.
I mean common dosent it get old playing him? Must you use the classic crouching HP as anti air? Just pick someone new!!! At least this is how it goes in my lil local fighting circle.
I think i can end this thread. Ok who started it all Ryu, when you think of :qcf: it’s Ryu you think about. The man started it all from dragon punch,to the motion you move your control stick for that move. Many have come after him and tried take away his image ( Mr Karate) but he will always be the one and only MAN IN THE WHITE GI and no body can take that away because you know they got it from person who started it… Ryu.
