Why do Scrubs like Shotos so much?

Akuma is a shoto kid. He has their normals. Their crossups. Their Supers. He’s like an expanded version. He has a lot more in common with Ken and Ryu than Dan and Sakura do.

You suck with Ken. That’s all there is to it. How are you gonna play 3S and say that Ken sucks? That’s like saying you’re a Ryu player in ST/A3/IV and saying he sucks.

Akuma is definately a shoto. What are you talking about? His moves consit of 80% Ryu moves.

A shoto is generally, a character that has a hadouken, shoryuken, and hurricane kick. Ken has all of these, therefore making him a shoto. Dan and Sakura have variants of these techniques, but I’m not sure if that makes them out to be “shoto” material.

Also, HadouKid, Akuma is a shoto as well, albeit he has a more expanded movelist, what with his demon flip and air fireball.

I’m not including supers and ultras as they vary from character to character. I’m saying they all fit the “shoto” mold as they all have the same special moves I described above.

this thread should be fucking closed and our so many fucking idiot that play sf as u can see in this thread. i cannot believe akuma and ken were not considered shotos.ryu ken sagat akuma dan are all shotos, sakura is a unique shoto as well as gouken. In fact scratch that ryu ken akuma seth(3rd strike) dan are head swap shotos!

Here’s the reasons why scrubs play with them.

they’re street fighter’s poster boys
they have the necisities, an AWESOME anti air, a fireball, in which all noobs like, and some kinda advancing attack (tatsu)
they’re easy to combo with

Scrubs like shotos because theyre (usually) easy accessible characters, have all the good basics specials (projectile, AA, hurricane kick-type moves), and so on. Plus they usually have main character powers.

I just dont like when the term shoto is just thrown towards any main character though. I say characters like Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dan, Jin, Ky, Ryo, Robert, K’, Jimmy, etc are shotos. The not quite shoto characters like Kyo, Iori, Ragna, Gouken, Sean, Sakura, Terry, Grant, Jotaro, etc. just straight up arent in my opinion.
