Hey guys, I’ve noticed at times before where I’ll get leg swept somehow even though I’m blocking. Today, it happened multiple times to where I was playing Urien and Ed and moments to where the opponent was using the same tactic over and over again and I had a read on it and so when they would go for a leg sweep I would input back but for some reason it didn’t block. I would be crouching even holding back and somehow still get swept. At one point the guy swept me 5 times in a row where I know without a doubt I was blocking and the matches weren’t lagging either. Does anyone know why this is happening or has it been happening to anyone else?
It might because of the number one killer of video game lives since 2014: lag-itis. I saw combos in USFIIFC that I could eacily block and predict on the Genesis, with Chun Li’s High low changeup combo. I block high, because most attacks are high, then know she does the low kick. I see it coming. The first block is defensive instinct, but once I recognize that pattern, the computer already does the low block, I press the down back, but it’s too late.
Unfortunately, they don’t make CRT TVs with HDMI inputs at a reasonable gamer size. (18-24 inches) You have to change your approach on street fighter retros. You have to do random mixups and not repeat them.
That’s how I got wins on Killer Instinct Xbox One. I randomly type in combos and get almost unbreakable combos because I’m so unpredictable. I’m able to break their combo after seeing it once or twice because they usually go for it more than one time. I have gotten Godlike combos. And the timing is more lenient because Microsoft knows there’s differences in TV lag.
