Why do i hate almost every char in SF4?

oh thats why, thanks for reminding me

H8 CREW!

Just pick Viper.

easy characters are the most basic characters to read lol

i think you’re playing the wrong game lol

ur right, im just trying to keep up with the times! i really wanna play a newer game but i can only play 3s and Guilty Gear  and its really hard for me to play this damn game when every char doesnt work for me -_-

oh and btw, ill try Viper, never have O.o

I doubt you’ll find a character like that in SF4. Maybe in Super, but that’ll probably only last for a week or two until people figure out how to play against character x.

Viper is really execution heavy. Unless you wanna be in training mode perfecting your execution, you might wanna stay away. Who know, you might end up liking her. Personally, I love Viper, but I really hate her playstyle.

You might be playing the wrong game to be honest. If you’re trying to play competitively, you should just play the character you find easiest to use. Play to win I guess. But if you’re just trying to have fun, play TvC or something.

If you can play Guilty Gear than Viper is an obvious choice. I was at Winter Brawl and basically everyone that was in the tournament who also played Guilty Gear or Melty Blood used Viper.

If you like Guilty Gear than Viper’s execution should be relatively familiar. The only people that still complain about Viper’s execution now are people who don’t play stick swinging heavy combo style games. Which is basically most of the people that play this game.

Dude.

Gouken.

He’s awesome, easy execution-wise since he doesn’t have any link combos, hits hard as hell, cool as feck. Also, he relies heavily on reading the opponent and playing very reactionary. Just make sure you don’t miss any opportunity to punish. Like, ever :stuck_out_tongue:

This is exactly how I felt. I originally tried to approach the game with attempting a poking/zoning game with her while figuring out her tricks. Turns out her poking game sucks, and with only the arcade to practice on I was just losing money and racking up heavy losses on my card. Eventually I started attempting her tricks, which I got half of them down, but she was still losing bad to certain characters, mainly Honda and Gief. After trying out some Boxer, he was ultimately easier to play and suited my playstyle more, but I just couldn’t have fun with the game in general so I quit.

Honestly, don’t force yourself to wanna play a game if you don’t feel like putting in the effort. You probably really are just not playing the right game if that’s your mentality towards SF4.

With Tekken 6, Blazblue and even KOF XII out I see no real reason one has to stick to a single fighting game.

SF4 may simply not have a character for you. Lots of people jumping from 3s that played Makoto may have had no equal in SF4. I didn’t have a Dictator in 3s and I couldn’t really settle on a main (I still haven’t really.) Most of the charge characters in 3s didn’t appeal to me, like Urien, who was the natural direction I was expected to gravitate to, but didn’t appeal to me. So I played other games, like Guilty Gear and Capcom vs SNK instead.

There are alternatives out there, definitely.

Because your are meant to be the worlds best Hakan player! Hands down the pants, oiled up man beast he is.

I hate all of the characters in BlazBlue… I just stick with Ragna cause he’s the most basic.

I wasnt too particular on a lot of the SF characters until I saw some good people play with them. Now they’re all cool in their own way. I still play Ryu though.

But, maybe it’s just not your game. Like I said I hate all of the BlazBlue fighters and as a result don’t play it very much. I guess it’s just not my game.

lol, 3s and GG actually have fully fleshed out characters.

No wonder

Just a reflection but; Too many options usually make me bored. It shouldn’t, you know. More options should mean; more fun. But a lot of times in life I find myself distracted by all the options. Like when I go into a videostore with a huge selection I sometimes leave with the feeling that there is nothing I want to see. But later that night I might turn on the TV and watch the movie that is on TV that night and think it is really good.

Another story from the gaming world. As a kid (I am an old person) I usually didn’t have the luxury of buying a lot of games for my Nintendo Entertainment System. If I bought a game, that game would get played. And I gave the game a lot of my time. If it was tough in the beginning I still stuck with it and kept on playing and I liked almost all the games that I had. One day I had saved up money and decided to buy all three games that was released for that system on that very day. It was Tetris, To the earth and Stadium events. I tried all three but ended up only playing Tetris and I realised I didn’t even feel like playing the other two games after that. Had I went out that day and only bought To the earth I know I would have played it and I probably would have liked it once I had gotten into it.

I kept this in mind a few years ago when I bought 12 second hand games from a guy that was selling all his old GameCube games. I just wrapped all the games up in newspaper and pretended they didn’t exist. And every day I was bored I opened a present. This way I tricked myself into giving attention to just one game at a time and it most definately made the experience last much longer than it would have if I had tried to play them all the same week.

I don’t know if overstimulation is the reason why this guy get bored with all the characters in the game. If it is; it will not be easier if he buys SSFIV with 35 fighters in it. My advice would be; just click on the randomizer when choosing your character the first time you turn on that game and then stick with that character for a couple of days. By that time you might have started to like that character or you might have seen the fighting of other characters that intrigued you.

because u suck

ive been playing Ryu since the early 90s and just found out how well chun li suits my style (I still consider myself to be a Ryu player first and foremost :P)
So try and actually get used to a character before you ā€œhate themā€

Chun Li and Viper are interesting to play as. try em.

I honestly don’t like the SF IV Cast so much as seeing it’s just Super Turbo chars drawn differently. None of them are just fleshed out and it just seems like your typical 80’s / 90’s styled character. I mean nothing wrong with that, Jackie Bryant from VF is awesome, but like… ugh I don’t know, the characters just all feel so boring to play as in my opinion. It took me like maybe 3-4 months after playing to finally stick with a concrete main, and of all choices, it ended up being Cammy. I don’t know though, SF IV Chars just feel really boring to me.

yeah i agree somewhat. i wish it wasnt a throwback, but capcom did it to get more people into it…

i think ssf4 will fix most of the issues i have with sf4, so im still excited.

Someone who isn’t easy to use you say?

Try Gen. or C.Viper.

Those two in themselves are absolute bastards to learn. and if their trials aren’t a good indication, I don’t know what is.

Lol, ironically most people online probably don’t know how to play against a good Ken.

just follow sanford’s way.
