First off how in the hell can you use Filter to reference anyting? Do you know the dumbass that vote there??? Hello, Super Smash Bros. was NUMBER 2 for cring out loud!!! If you’re following that poll than your wrong right there.
Second, for those who hate on MvC2, I here the argument about “people hate it cause they never got good at it” spill for along time now but damn the game is like six years old now so some people just move on to better games. I pesonally don’t like it cause I got good at it and got tried of seeing scrubs beat newbies with combos they saw on some video clip and then when they play some real comp than they fall to shit. There are so many Justin Wong wannbies out there that it makes you sick. Than they ask the same stupid question when you bet them “Dude, do you play tournies???” Fuck no (well use to), I just been playing this game for SIX FUCKING YEARS!!!
As for Capcom and SNK well if they want the mainstream appeal like other games than they are going to have to move to more 3D games here in the States cause the average gamer like their games flashy and easy. SCII is a hit cause its looks good, its simple and you can look like a pro with being one. VF4 isn’t as popular cause it takes alot skills to master (notice I said skills to master not play) and alot of time. Plus its not as flashy as SCII or Tekken. But there is a price to pay for that cause then the hardcore fans will hate it and you don’t want to lose them so Capcom and SNK are stuck. What it all boils down to is money and lets face it the hardcore fans are a small group that with all buying the games maybe break even (and thats being nice). I’m pretty sure Capcom bit it with the sales of CFJ cause alot of hardcore fans didn’t buy it so let me ask you this (I mean anyone reading this) what would you do if you was Capcom or SNK?
Mvsc2 stoped being fun 3 months after the game cameout, i learned everything and moved on that shit in that game is too broken, and yes i know how to play it and can easily hold my own in that game, it just doesnt have the same apeal as other games.
Virtua figher 4 evo- well i got this game cause it kicks ass and i still very new to it and it requires lots of patience to learn.
Tekken 4 - was ok for a while then it became gay and not fun, tekken tag and tekken 3 & 2 now that was the stuff
SNK - samsho 5 specail is the shit, and its very tight game, KOF reached its peak at 97 wich i love, then 98 & 2002 was good all the other ones are ok.
Last blade series is very much forgotten and its a tight game that everyone should play.
Garou - is a nice game and i love it.
Street fighter 3 - is a wonderful game and i love its about the only capcom fighting game i love, aslo Cvs2 was nice,star gladiator 2 is nice also.
But serisuly Mvsc2 is gay, move on to GGXXR or Melty blood react or somethin…
Melty Blood ReACT is dumb, move on to Eternal Fighter Zero or Immaterial and Missing Power.
Hello? The people who voted there were your American voting audience. People who watch Filter are people who play games from all ages and all genres. They are not fanboys to one particular thing or another on the whole which is why you get for the most part good results. I don’t see how it can not be used for a reference just like any other Poll. If the Poll was ‘incredibly stupid’ there’s no way that even half of those games would even be on the list. Yeesh, you don’t even need that Poll to point out MVC2’s popularity. For a good amount of time it was recognized as America’s #1 Fighter which is what you call common knowledge. The fact that lots of people here are defending MVC2 on this Thread should clearly show you MVC2’s popularity without me posting any sort of Poll. Just because you disagree with Smash Bros. being #2 doesn’t mean you can dismiss the Poll entirely. If you realize this, maybe this is how you ‘being.’

You make a great point Sano I’m just say Filter is not that reliable. Like you said all kinds of people voted and as impressive as it looks, MvC2 is in just about every arcade mall so you can’t help but have heard of it or seen it in action. With high level comp playing each other the game looks cool to the average gamer. GG was placed low cause not too many arcades have it and you don’t get to see the high level comp play each other so the game doesn’t look that appealing (of course it does look great graphic wise). Most of the gamers here would have placed it alot higher on their list. I’m not saying the MvC2 isn’t popular (after all six years and still the most played game at touries) or it wouldn’t place high in a hardcore fighting gamers poll but Filters gives you a list of games and say pick one you reconize. Of course alot of people here will defend it being this is a Capcom site but even that there are people who don’t like the game and for just as good reasons. Games like KOF, SS or GMOTW wasn’t even on there cause the average gamer might have never seen these games cause their arcade doesn’t have them or Filter didn’t have them as a chose (I may be wrong on this one).
Again though I do see what your saying and you have a point but all I’m saying is the Filter poll was jacked and I would use it for a reference…and the fact I hate Super Smash Bros :bgrin:.

Edit: If you lose to a scrub thats your own fault as you being the better player you SHOULD win. Dont forget Marvel is for fun, for me its nice to play a where i not poking the turtling then poking again. If i decide to poke in a match i’ll have priority battles (i.e my jumping fierce beats ur standing roundhouse). So shit like that make the game fun, try it out pick magnus and tell a friend to pick magnus and try to beat each other clean out wit a jumping fierce…
