Why can't players online give new people like me a break?

This. My buddy wrath likes to this “one and done” type of thing and it makes me so fucking mad.

Anyways, yeah Matrix. You’ll learn. My fighting game experience started on the playstation one, and I kept playing SFEXplusAlpha and Street Fighter Alpha until i ended up getting Arcade Edition. The games arent really alike in too many ways, aside from inputs, a few characters, and some basics. But the fact that I got into the game and just grinded out fun times means my inputs were pretty decent going into SFIV, although my fundamentals were shit. So, what i’m saying is: Treat your inputs and fundies separately (per move preferably). Do the move till you can get it 5-10 times in a row, or consistently. Think about how that move could be used, and think within the games mechanics. (be sure you know those pretty well) Start using training mode to apply that moves use, then start trying it in actual matches.

Of course, I think the biggest part of SF is knowing how things work and when you can get them to work for you, and im not just talking normals /
special moves.

dangit why is everyone being so nice on the internet this year lol I was waiting for this guy to get blown up gosh dangit for all ur guyses kindnesses…
tryin to help learn n sh(t

Man, let me tell you why: I’ve played against people who SEEMED to be total scrubs, and I took it easy on them for 2 1/2 rounds…then when they got down to like 20% health, they just whipped out combo-video shit on me, completely shutting me down and destroying me, then taking the remaining rounds with perfects, like Krillin suddenly morphing into ssj4 Brolli, while laughing in their mic. THAT shit is why nobody gives you a chance. Too many semi-pros masquerading as noobs to do that shit to you, or you have people with low or NO BP…because they traded the game in, then re-bought it later. Nobody knows if you’re really a noob, or a destroyer masquerading as a beginner. THAT’S why noobs get destroyed most of the time. The rest is just people being dicks.

That is just the nature of the beast. I’ve been playing SF since 1992 and you have been playing for a month. Do you think you have any chance against me? No, definitely not. When you play people like me you just have to take your beating and learn from it and adjust and get better.

To give a little context, this was more in reaction to his ill informed tirade in another thread. Change isn’t bad per se and adding new systems can keep things fresh, but when you compromise the core of the game to make it more accessible for people who have hardly put any time into it and are in no position to decide what’s good or bad design; that’s when you run into problems.

Hm, a competitively game is played competitively. Who would have thought?

I do give you break and play a basic Ryu. Take a hint and play solid.

I started playing this game last month and I still am bad but damn I love this game. I need to play this everyday (until SF V comes out that is).

I’ll live and die using Ryu.

please don’t bump old threads unless you have something on topic to contribute
